I just keep an old, used (empty) gift card in my wallet and that way I'm prepared for either variety.

They are the keypad type, no card needed.

As noted they are key pad. Mine was not secured to the cabinet/wall. I could have brought it home but it would have likely put me over my baggage weight allowance !
