Does anyone know if you can just get a plain hamburger from Guys? I'm the pickiest eater ever and eat mine with some onions and some BBQ sauce - but would still prefer a juicy hamburger from Guys over the rubbery ones you can get pool side :D

You do realize that Guy's is poolside right?

You can order the burgers however you want them, eg burger and bun only, and then add whatever toppings you like.

Yes, but I meant different than from where you get the regular hamburgers with the chicken tenders and :p

Thank to both you wantocruisemore for answering my question!

I rarely see any posts regarding the Liberty out of Port Canaveral. Any reason why?

Does anyone have any good tips or comments to share?

We have a 4J sailing over Halloween.

Look forward to hearing from everyone!

OrlandoGirl57,

We've sailed Liberty five times and are planning to sail her next Spring Break out of Port Canaveral for our sixth time on her.

She's a fine ship and prior to sailing Breeze she was our favorite ship in the fleet.

We haven't sailed Liberty from Port Canaveral, but we have sailed from there and the port is simple, friendly, and easy to navigate. In fact if you get lost there.........:o

Our first sailing out of Port Canaveral was in 1989 (but not on Carnival). The port has changed A LOT since then, but essentially is the same.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. That is basically what I was looking for. I've lived in Orlando all of my life- and Port Canaveral and Jetty Park have long been hang outs!

I'm looking forward to my October 25th sail on the Liberty. New ports and a new ship- I can hardly wait!!!

We did a B2B on Liberty this past January. Beautiful ship with 2.0 upgrades. They even had the 10-pc. orchestra & "broadway-ish" shows. Loved it.

Since it hasn't started sailing out of PC, you'll have to search for other reviews which probably would not have the same itinerary as you will have.

I'm sure you will love Liberty.

When you return please let us know if they have luggage express and what the earliest flight time is to use it out of Orlando.

We cruise out of PC on the Liberty November 2nd! I would love to hear back from you regarding the above as well!!!

Our cruise in November is only a 5 day.

Everything I've seen so far on the Liberty from its current port is for more than 5 days so

I'm trying to figure out what night Elegant night will be on. I know there is only 1 elegant night on a 5 day. Usually they say it's the first sea day. But on this cruise the only sea day is the last day before we return to port. I've also read they don't normally do elegant night on the last night. ???

Anyone have any idea which night will be Elegant night?

Day 1 we leave Port Canaveral

Day 2 we dock in Freeport

Day 3 we dock in Nassau

Day 4 we dock in Half Moon Cay.

Day 5 is sea day

We got off yesterday. Had a wonderful time but was disappointed with the overall service...anytime dining, had no wait at 6:00 but seemed as though they were shorthanded on servers...dinners lasted much longer than we were used to with Carnival. We were unlucky with our cabin steward but others traveling with us had a great one that talked with us every time we headed to their cabin to meet up. Burger bar and Burrito bar was very good! As I said though, we had a tremendous time - not going to let a few things ruin a good week at sea!

Used Victor Bodden in Roatan and Nativway in Grand Cayman...fantastic as usual. Paradise Beach at Cozumel is still great and we didn't get off the ship in Belize.

Have fun!

Interesting. We just got off the LIberty on Saturday too....we must have been on the same floor, we never saw our cabin steward until Tuesday - didnt even know his name! This was our first Carnival cruise and a very different experience than we have had on Princess. Others that were travelling with us had a cabin steward that was OUTSTANDING...knew thier names, chatted with the teens.

We also used Victor Bodden in Roatan and would book with him again - absolutely FANTASTIC!

Any idea how much this is?

Depending on the airline, we fly Southwest and the first two bags (per person) go free and the service fee is $20.00 per person. We have used it before and it is great. Put your luggage out the night before (like normal anyway) and you do not see it again until you reach your home airport.

Please tell me if they have added back the Creme brûlée and grand mariner soufflé to the menu yet? How was the food? We'll be there in less than 3 weeks.

I didnt see the Creme Brule or Grand Mariner Souflee on the the menu. This was our first Carnival Cruise so I dont know what i was missing. Desserts were lacking, I think I had Chocolate Melting cake on 3 nights and no dessert on another night. Overall the food was good. I think the second formal night menu could have been "stepped up" a bit...but we never went hungry :) The fish taco at the Cantina by the pool was delicious and the Mongolian Wok was awesome. Of course Guy's Burgers and fries were delicious - the teenage boys we sailed with had no less than 2 a day :) I didnt eat at the lido buffet at all, as we were in port most days. I think the Pizza on Princess cruises is better, but still didnt stop me from partaking in a slice or two on the Liberty :) We had a fantastic trip - I am sure you will too!!!

I live a couple miles from Port Canaveral and sail out of it regularly on the casino boat....LOL

I just today booked the Liberty for June 28 on the 8-Night Southern Caribbean.

Didn't even realize she was new to the port, as there are so many it's hard to keep track of what's here and what's no longer

Hello Aimee! My extended family of 9 is seriously thinking about Ms. Liberty in July 2015 and going to St. Thomas, GT, San Juan. Did you do a review on here? If not, could you give us a brief note on what you liked the most? What are a few "not to miss things" on the ship, too?
Thank you!!

Like stated, the Liberty hasn't left out of Port Canaveral yet. Still sailing from Miami.
I was on it two weeks ago. This was my 4th time on it. 2nd with the 2.0 upgrades. So everything was pretty much the same except for the new dinig room menu. Everything was fabulous.
I like the new American menu. I thought that I would be against it but it was really nice. Really liked the calamari. I had it the last 2 nights and it made me regret not having it the whole cruise.
Loved Alchemy. Was there every night. Brian is awesome.

Loved Guy's burgers as usual.

Was not too thrilled about the tacos at Blue Iguana. My 1st Liberty cruise with it, each time I got chicken or pork tacos, there was alway a piece of something hard in it. Tiny pieces of bone that just turned me off from eating the rest of my meal.
I figured, maybe it was just those batches on that cruise. Tried it again the 1st day with the pork, and the same thing. You know what I mean, that "nails on a chalkboard feeling" when you are eating something and all of a sudden you crucnh down on something that isn't suppoed to be crunchy. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I just keep getting the parts with a little bit of bone in them lol.

Shows, eh. Same ol'. Sick of Legends so I didn't go to that. But OMG karaoke with Kim is FABULOUS. He is hilarious. He will sing any song you ask. He even sings voluntarily and has wigs and such for his different characters lol. Him singing the male and femal version of Endless Love was soooo great.

The club was pack every night surprisingly. But only 2 nights was it really active and good. Most of the time it was just a gathering place.

The piano bar is something I only went to one night because in my opinion, the guy sucked. Great piano player but wouldn't do much of what the people were asking for. And his singing voice is horrible. Very into himself and did what he wanted and what he like to play and sing. So I just observed then left. He was killing my buzz lol.

I liked the new pizza. Super thin and crispy. Real cheese again. The margarita and pepperoni are the best to me.

I wish they served more late night eats. One night that had a couple of things opposite of the pizza on Lido but eh. And one mexican buffett which I missed out on being full from dinner. Need more 24hrs greasy food options other than pizza to soak up alcohol for us late night partiers lol. I think that should go for the whole Carnival fleet.

Serenity. During the day it is a nice quite place and very calming. Great kid free hot tub. Along with the aft pool too. At night, very secluded ;)

Loved my balcony on Lido. Midship. Close to food and action.

BTW, we did the ports of Nassau, PR, GT and St. Thomas.
We didn't do any excursions. Been there, done that. We usually do Magen's Bay bean in St. Thomas though. This time just went to Senor Frogs and got a little buzz.

GT, only really do the beach and Margaritaville. The beach is the calm side.

PR, I love PR. Been there so many times during a cruise and just trips there. So all I did was go to Senor Frogs with my AMAZING roll call group now known as The Purple Beaders and go wasted lol.
I have the Southern Caribbean route in August. It is a drive to port (1.5) hour drive, so no flight here. :)

I will post when I get back.
Yes, Half Moon Cay, I think getting a private cabana is a must (If you can afford it) for a group of 9 they have a bigger one that is a bit more expensive, but you could split the cost.

St Thomas has a ton of options. My favorite is Sapphire beach, but I read recently that most of the shoppes have closed down and there are no bathrooms, so Magens bay is another great option. Also, we have taken the fairy to St Johns and gone to Trunk bay: the snorkeling there is awesome.

San Juan is a really nice place to do some shopping and sight seeing. We did the Segway tour (you can google it). I am super clumsy which made it really funny.

Grand Turk is a nice beach day, but we have also done a island tour through Carnival which takes you to the lighthouse and to the Salt factory? I guess its a salt factory… I don't know the correct name for it. Anyways, its really laid back.

As far as the ship, Liberty is my second favorite ( Breeze is #1). I like its more neutral color scheme. We had a interior window room and I just loved the layout and the staff on the ship. I got really lucky in the casino and the staff in the casino were just really funny. I hope you have a fabulous time with whichever one you choose :)
