Mini Bar

Anyone know what HAL's proceedures are for replenishing the mini bar? Is it checked daily by the Cabin Steward and then they tell the bar staff? Can you have it stocked with only beer if you choose?

Any help would be appreciated

In the past we were able to get them to provide what we wanted and items were replenished daily. We could even get them to take away items if we wanted....one cruise line kept snicker bars in the fridge....my kids thought they were in cruise heaven....I had to have them stop before the kids over dosed. Sadly, on the cruise we got of of last week soda was only replaced one or two times in 11 days. Unusual for them to miss a chance to make $$.

Your room steward will gladly empty the mini-fridge for you, and arrange for it to be filled with whatever you wish. We've had ours filled with diet sodas and they were replenished nearly as fast as we could drink them. Billing was fine - they knew exactly what we used.

It's a separate room service bar staff person that does your mini bar. You can tell your room steward or call room service directly. We never had a problem getting things added or removed or reshuffled. For example, if you drink only Sprite, you could ask them to remove the other sodas and replace them with Sprite. Alternately, you could get a whole refrigerator of one type of beer if that's what you want.

Ice is done by your room steward. If the room ice bucket, which is pretty small, doesn't meet your needs, ask for a wine chiller and leave standing instructions to have it filled daily or twice a day if that's what you need.

A couple of the wine stewards used to go around to all the cabins and replenish whatever you used. And they used to leave a slip of paper indicating what you would be billed. We used to laugh when our dining room wine steward would be the one going around and checking everything.

Now that rarely happens. They only come around 1 or 2 times during the cruise. They definitely come around on the last day of the cruise.

If there is an alcohol you like best, you might be better off ordering a liter bottle for your cabin.

We just ask our room steward to clear it out when we first get to our cabin. It is usually done before the Muster Drill. We bring 3 12 packs of soda on with us, as they don't carry the type we prefer on-board (Diet Coke with Lime and diet Dr. Pepper). I also pre-order a "bucket" of Heineken beer for the cabin and it is in the cabin, iced down when I arrive.

In any case, if you ask, they are happy to accommodate whatever you want.
