Fall Discounts Next?

I feel like by this time last year, Fall sales were well under way. I hope they start soon. Looking for a price drop for the Glory in Oct.

I think they're having a problem selling the summer cruises, so they're focused on that. We aren't hot weather cruisers (going somewhere hot in the middle of the summer), so none of these sales apply to us.

 

We're also waiting for the Fall sales to start.

It definitely looks that way.

 

There are some awesome rates out there right now for summer cruises. The brand new NCL Getaway has a 7 night for just over $400 per person interior.

Yeah, CCL extended the sale until 5/4. Maybe the bookings were not as good as expected?

The Summer Sailings Sale ends today so fingers crossed the Fall sale starts tomorrow!

I think there are too many ships in the Caribbean this summer. The rates to fly to Europe would choke a horse.........or at least any horse in my house.

 

So NCL has the Breakaway here all year.. Princess has the Caribbean Princess....RCI always sails in the Caribbean...I think NCL and RCI had kids sail for free promos.....

 

Carnival seems to be doing better than all of the rest except for RCI.

 

We are booked on the Liberty in June. Hope rates fall some..i would like to upgrade. I hope rates do not fall so low that the scofflaws start booking. I define them as the naked ladies, the drunk men who yell at their wives and kiddies, the drunk couples who don't know where their kids are....ever..the drunks who heckle the performers., the comedians, the staff in the casino who "cheat" them, the staff who did not do something they wanted done .......and then ...28 members of the same family in three inside cabins...some of whom talk loudly in the halls each night...yelling at each other in languages no one understands so you don't know if they are in distress or having a good time.

 

And No. I have never complained about another passenger to anyone on Carnival. Ever. Never would. But they irriate me and they all seem to have the common denominator. DRUNKS.

I keep hoping for a price drop for the glory on October 18th but the price keeps going up. I do have early saver.

If anyone booked ES and qualifies for military discounts they have a Military Appreciation sale going on right now..Definitely worth checking out...I have never seen a price drop on an aft cabin and yet boom.. got one this time around...$90 + $50 OBC..I'll take it :-)

We must have sailed different ships as I have never seen most of the type of passengers you describe here, only very limited "bad" behavior. Granted we have only been on 23 cruises, so I guess DW and I have been fortunate so far.

Looks like we get to wait another few weeks for Fall sales. They're still running Kids Sail Free and they introduced another $50 deposit and final payment 30 days before sailing sale. It's good only on the summer sailings. They must be having a really hard time filling the ships without lowering the prices.

I booked a cruise a year in advance and thought I would just sit back and take any price cuts. Then out of the clear blue skies, Carnival announces that cruise is now a Bloggers cruise. There go any price cuts. Oh well, will be fun to have John Heald on board.

Of course they extended it. I think there's only been one sale that they haven't extended. I'm really hoping the Fall sales are next and I'm more-or-less praying that it's the rate with $50 and pay it off 30 days before you leave.

I went back and searched my emails. Last year we booked a December cruise in February and got our first price drop at the end of March. Then in June we got another price drop. There were no more until the month before the cruise and I didn't have early saver book then so I couldn't get anything. I would say that because of all the bad publicity early last year they ran better sales in order to get the bookings. This year we book a December cruise in January and have not seen one price drop, it has actually gone up.

When I book the second leg of my B2B for Oct, my PVP said that I should start looking for price changes or specials around 2-3 months before sailing. I my be in a different catergory though, since I am solo. He said single supplement cruise prices should change then and I could get almost half back in OBC.

For all of us I hope that we get something!!!

I talked to my PV and he said the fall discounts could start around the middle of July or sooner. I hope they have good discounts for October because I am going on the Conquest October 26 ,14 I booked ES.

Progress! The new discount does not include my 11/16 cruise, but at least they didn't extend the summer sale for the 345th time. The sale released today is for sailings through 10/31.

So got excited finally a sale for fall cruises, :eek: well no not at all, just reduced deposit and delayed final payment date. Ive been following my cruise for middle of October and It still is the same that it was back in March. Wish they would offer some discount toward fall cruises, the summer cruises dropped in half for the month of June :confused: Well we can only wait and hope for some reduction. Happy cruising everyone!

Not every summer cruise dropped in price. Ours hasn't as of yet. I would guess Fall sales will start in the middle of summer just like the summer sales started in the middle of spring. And if they do like they did last year, there will be a big sale that will cover cruises from September to the end of summer 2015 with some kind of OBC beginning late August.
