Transfers from Port......

Is it best to purchase the transfers from the Port to the Airport onboard or ahead of time?

We just got off the explorer today and we took taxis and found it much easier.

Only thing is ...Is it not more expensive from Port Canaveral to Orlando Int'l by taxi than the Cruise line Coach? I think it's about an hour away?

I rented a car(full size) from Budget for $38 per day. We arrive in Orlando 12/3 and sail 12/4. We are picking the car up at the airport on the 3rd and returning it near the port in Canaveral on the 4th. This is supposedly much cheaper than buying the transfers. Budget also shuttles the person that drops off the car in Canaveral over to the port. Lots of people have told us about this practice.

We are flying in 2 days prior and renting a car at MCO Int'l and dropping at the rental office near the pier and taking the shuttle...it is the return I am asking about? Not worth renting a car for the one way trip from the port to the airport with all the aggravation of renting etc and time being of the essence..

 

Not sure whether to arrange transfers with RCI ahead of time of just take care of once onboard?

We always purchase the transfers ahead of time. We fly from the West Coast, so we don't want any extra hassles of any kind. Just get us to the ship.

 

Our TA just adds it to the bill, and then they send the vouchers with your cruise contract booklet.
