Casino Comp Chick Posted May 12, 2014 #27 Share Posted May 12, 2014 As an FYI, I was Golden Feb & March this year, I dropped down to Hot in April, I needed about 1000 points to go back up to Golden which I did so I should be Golden until next April (If they don't evaluate and have dropped points until April 1st 2015) I will get back to you, gonna call CAS tomorrow about something so I will inquire then
Fishbait17 Posted May 12, 2014 #28 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Hi! I can confirm it. I was about 700 points shy of VIP getting on my Gem cruise on April 5. I made VIP within an hour or two of the casino opening. They calculated that by adding my April 1, 2013- March 31, 2014 points together with what I earned on Gem in April 2014. They elevated me to VIP immediately (and by the way, although normally the benefits wouldn't go into effect until the next cruise, the casino manager said she had the discretion to implement it for that cruise for everything except the soda package, and since it was within hours of boarding she would do so - so if you are close and hit on the first day or so, ask...). When I called after my cruise to check points and book another cruise, they gave me a point total that included all of 2013 plus what I earned on Gem in April 2014. Terry Thanks Terry, that confirms what I have been thinking. I have ~8000 points to go to make VIP, so I may or may not make it on my sailing next week (family cruise, will need lots of time to spend with them instead of the casino). Good to know. Bonyon Posted May 13, 2014 #29 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Ok newbie here. How much does it cost to earn one point? I see it is 1500 points for a drink card. How would that translate into dollars?
garycarla Posted May 13, 2014 #30 Share Posted May 13, 2014 From their website Points are earned based on average bet / time / game. Reel Slots - $5 Coin-In = 1 Reward Video Poker - $10 Coin-In = 1 Reward
Casino Comp Chick Posted May 13, 2014 #31 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Yes, that's been my experience as well. Have you confirmed that your recent points earned have actually added to "last year's" total - with either CAS or onboard your sailing? I'd be very interested in knowing, as I am close to making VIP, and may do so on my sailing next week if things are working that way.. Robin Yes they upped me that night in the casino. How would that translate into dollars? On the Gem 1 slot point = $4.50 played through machine. The Breakaway was $5.00 per point
sjbdtz Posted May 14, 2014 #33 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Interesting! Did you (he) make the full 15,001 points to make Golden from 4/1/12-3/31/13 or were some of the 2013-2014 points included? I could see dropping down to Hot once the previous year's points drop off. But the big question is, if you (he) sailed today would the new points be added to the 14,285 or would you (he) be starting at net zero again? the last sentence leads me to believe it would be net zero, but my experience from the previous year shows differently.. I suppose this could go either way... Well I guess we'll see how it all plays out soon! When is your (his) next sailing? Robin I (you (he)) have my next sailing in September, when I (you (he)) hope to make Golden again on day 1.... based on my understanding, I can play 616 points on my next trip to re-gain Golden, but only until March 2015, unless I have requalified. It's really confusing. And my contact still says that changes are coming, but won't divulge what they are.

luvcruzing Posted June 6, 2014 #37 Share Posted June 6, 2014 It's per my CAS rep (I'd share his name but don't want to get him in trouble). I have kept close watch on my tier qualifying points since the new program began, and made Golden in last May 2013 on the Breakaway, with the points combined from two "qualifying years" (sailings in May 2013 and May 2012) -it was my first sailing in the "new qualifying year" and I did not make the 15,001 points needed on that sailing alone. I accrued more in Jan 2014, and again in Mar 2014, totaling roughly 35k points. On April 1, 2014, the points from my May 2012 sailing dropped off (but not the May 2013 or 2014 sailings) and my tier balance is now 26,320. The points I earn next week on the Jewel will (per my rep) be added to that cumulative total and would bump me back up to VIP if I make 9000 more points. In the beginning it didn't seem like it was supposed to work this way, but that's the way it appears to be working currently. Hope it's not a mistake that they will correct now that I have posted it! I'll be watching closely next week on the Jewel and report back what happens, just in case it turns on me.:D Robin Now that you're back, Robin, anything to report? Coastalbreezes Posted June 6, 2014 #38 Share Posted June 6, 2014 I am 2000 points shy of VIP which I should easily make come September. BUT, if changes are still in the works, that could change, sigh. Tracy
Fishbait17 Posted June 7, 2014 #39 Share Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Now that you're back, Robin, anything to report? Nothing new to report. I made roughly 7000 points on my May sailing and maintained my Golden status, but am now about 1500 points from VIP. I may take a short cruise (wish they did CTNs in the summer) to bump me up. Went over my points accumulation with the casino mgr on the Jewel and it was exactly as I expected and listed above. Casino was mostly awful on the Jewel - it was the first cruise after drydock and I suppose the machines needed to be "warmed up" after such a break . Can not believe either how tight they were, or my luck was bad. Another cruise coming soon - will report back.

How can I find my points? I know I'm hot but think I should be close to golden. I have 3 more NCL cruises booked this year. Thanks Hi, I'm not Robin but this is what I've done with great results: I have two e-mails that I use for that same question as I can't remember which e-mail is the correct one: casinoinquiries@ncl.com and Casinol@ncl.com Sometimes I get a reply from one and sometimes from the other, but I send my request to both! LOL E-mail them and provide them with your latitudes number, your name, the last date of your cruise and that ships name. I always ask them what my points are once I completed that cruise as well as how many points I earned on that cruise. I also keep a log of how many points I earn on each cruise. I usually get a reply back from them within the week. The other way I used to do it was when I had a great CAS PCC. I'd call or e-mail him and he'd tell me.....but I don't use him anymore. Give it a try! Harriet
