Imagination: The coldest ship ever

Recommended Posts

First night cabin hot, the rest of us trip I wore my carnival jacket. Long underwear shirt and warm up pants to bed

DAY 1 asked for an orange FTTF sticker for my bag. After checking in and applying money to my SS card, I ordered a virgin sail away punch. Met the Matre'd and discussed my food preferences for the first night. Since I had YTD, the order was waiting for me. Ordered the lemon Chicken breast /green salad/parfait /duck potstickers KALE Caesar salad karaoke Sang these boots are made for walking and close to you Shea was the karaoke host from Canada and was so cute. 2ajasyna.jpg

Placed an order for skim milk and peanut butter, toast, and hot chocolate for breakfast. A Swan met me at bed timejavymehu.jpg

DAY 2 Elegant night: Kale Caesar salad/lobster tail/ baked potato/cream brûlée met the captain. 2ere3yzu.jpg

Won 4 ships on a stick plus one at karaoke for being the first performer. Sang I'm a believer and girls want to have fun won $300 in butterflies slot. Played max by accident. No more casino! Came back to find my towel elephant guarding my new Tervis cup. ehejevy4.jpg

We did celebrate Cinco De Myo with a deck party. There was also an atrium Mardi Gras party that was hard to participate in because it was a follow the leader all over the ship via stairs. Made it very difficult for the disabled to keep up.

DAY 3 checked the menu. Didn't think anything looked appetizing, so I saved my peanut butter and toast for peanut butter sandwich in a baggie from breakfast and had chocolate covered strawberries for dessert virgin Miami vice $7 won 1 ship on a stick. Roamed the promenade deck and encountered the elephant towel animal.yqeve6uj.jpg I spoke to the photographer and he said on the Imagination at least Funship Freddie was gone. Also met Mr and Mrs potato head. Met my sexy bunny animal on my bed. 6egu4ema.jpg

Started packing what I don't need for Wednesday. My karaoke Songs were these boots are made for walking and I'm a believer. Decided to cash out of the casino with a $429 profit ($399 on my card).

DAY 4 went to the towel folding demonstration, then stayed for the towel animal theater puppet show. Had Sea day BRUNCH and used my coupon for a banana split virgin drink. Had the egg white omelet with bacon and a fruit plate. Went to several trivia games, and won Motown name that tune. Sang I'm a believer for afternoon karaoke and These Boots and Love will keep us together for the evening session. Had chicken breast with BBQ sauce/mozzarella-tomatoes off the appetizers list and a green salad with corn. The chocolate pana cotta was very good like a rich chocolate mousse.

The ship rocked all day with rough seas. Put suitcase in hall for check out. Cashed out my account at the platinum desk where there was no line, while the other line wound around the atrium.

I skipped both shows. The Divas show was modern artists I didn't care about and Rock Anthems was too late. I also stayed on the ship with my walker, so didn't go on any excursions. I loved the ship, but as I said in the title, it is the coldest ship I've been on. I wore a Carnival sweater the entire time.

I froze on the Imagination too. If I was in my cabin, I was under the covers on the bed. But that was truly my only complaint as I enjoyed the cruise so much.

But yes, I froze everywhere. I ended up wearing the one pair of pants I brought with me a few times.

How was the food? Especially in the buffet? Lines for ATD?

We just booked the May 19 cruise on the Inspiration.

Both ships were identical in price. Well, almost. The Inspiration was $2 more total. We had such a horrid time on the Imagination that Mom won't sail that ship again.

Please tell Mom that we experienced a one-off cruise.

Sounds like us years ago on Triumph. We darn near froze and this was in June. We had to go out on deck (day or night) to get warm. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

We had the problem of it being too cold on the Triumph last year too. It was like the AC was set to "Sub Artic" because I was FREEZING. Thank goodness I took a couple of warm shawls with me because I had one light jacket which my son kept borrowing because he was cold too.:D

In our cabin, I took to sleeping in one of the bathrobes because I was too cold although DH said he was too warm.

I didn't eat on the lido. Too hard to balance a tray with my walker. I did have hot chocolate every morning though up there while I tried to warm up.

I always went in the first wave of diners in YTD and they kept moving. The entire MDR was used for YTD so there were two lines, unlike the inspiration, which used the left line for YTD and the right line for early/late dining.

The wait staff were slow with explaining the menus every night. The food was lukewarm, not really hot. I liked the BBQ sauce with my chicken, it was just spicy enough. It was served on the side for dipping or pouring over the entire breast.

Peter, the guy who ran most of the trivia games, is from Australia, and said he's never been in air conditioning before. The first night aboard, he said his back just stiffened up and he couldn't move when he got up. He's been on the ship about three months, and he's just getting used to it. betesa8u.jpg

We sailed the first week of February and didn't have any adverse conditions with A/C or heat. We were comfortable the whole time.

They may have jumped the gun on the AC. We had a heat wave a few weeks earlier, and they may have thought we needed to cool off and overcompensated!

I agree with you. They haven't figured it out yet. Right now is the time for temperature swings. Last week it was pushing 100, this week 70's, next week back to the 100's.

We had the opposite problem on the Valor with a lack of a/c that was pretty bad. I cant believe it was that cold in your cabin! Glad you had a good time though.

Thanks for the review which included your towel animals. I am hoping we run into the elephant towel animal which would be a must buy picture for me. I usually bring one of those $10 shawls to throw over my shoulder but with your heads up I will also bring a light jacket for breakfast and lunch if we eat in the dining room. Since we are not going until July maybe the cabin temperature will be fully adjusted by then since we should no longer have the crazy temperatures we are having now.

What outdoor areas did you enjoy?

Where and when did you see the elephant? I keep missing him.

He was on Promenade on Weds (first night of Hasbro Game Night) with Mr and Mrs Potato Head, and Thurs morning after the towel folding/puppet theater. Just ask the photo staff. He was also on Lido deck sometime Sun or Mon, but I missed him then.
