How safe is Copenhagen during night

Hi,

 

We arrive Copenhagen at night and stay near airport.

 

We want to take public transportation to downtown, is it safe? How late can we stay in downtown and return to hotel?

The airport metro runs every 20 minute during the night.

 

The øresund train is staffed and runs once every hour and every 30th minute nights after Fridays and Saturdays.

 

 

If you keep to the downtown area (well every other place than Nørrebro) you should be safe.

We cruise a lot; if you're taking the wonderful Airport/Downtown Train to snoop the Cafes and stroll then staying late won't be a problem. Staying til after 1/am gets you amongst the younger party-people around Tivoli Amusement Park. Buy a Round-trip to avoid any inconvenience. One of my 'fave safe cities of the World. Locomotiveman

Thanks for the reply! We hope the flight won't be delayed so we'll have time to take metro to downtown.

 

"Buy roundtrip" means buy 2 metro tickets while aboard the metro? As each ticket is only good for one hour?

There are no roundtrip tickets but there are a 24 hour ticket called City Pass that cost 80 kroner.

 

A 3 zone ticket Cost 36 kroner so that is 72 kroner so the City Pass is a very good deal because its valid for 24 hour so you can just hop on a bus or metro if you are tired of walking.
