Traditional Dining Times Partial Transit Panama Canal

We are booked on the Coral Princess 11 day Partial Transit of the Panama Canal next April. There appears to be some confusion over the times of Traditional Dining on this cruise. Princess advised that 5.45 was the early sitting, yet when we received the confirmation it was shown as 5.15 (far too early) We changed it on the cruise personalizer to 5.45 and queried it with Princess who have said that we can have 5.45. We have fallen foul of these types of changes before on an Alaskan cruise where we were told early dining was at 6 but actually it was at 5.30. I appreciate we can change to anytime dining but was just wondering if anyone who has done this cruise can actually confirm the timings.

My last several cruises on either the Coral or the Island, dining times have been much earlier than on other Princess ships. The very early Traditional dining time has been either 5:15 or 5:30 and the late Traditional time has been 7:30 or 7:45pm.

The ship's can change the times, you may not have any knowledge until you are on the ship.

We were confirmed for 6:00 dining. Once on the ship, there was no 6:00 dining (it was 5:30). The Matride moved it up as people were taking a long time which delayed the late dining.

Thanks for the replies. This is how we got caught out on our Alaska cruise where despite having a 6pm confirmed sitting the ship did not have such a sitting only a 5.30 and 7.45. Does anyone know what time anytime dining starts on the Coral?

The times listed in the personalizer are usually just a place holder and the actual times may not be known until boarding the ship.

On one b2b the personalizer said 8 PM for the late seating for both segments.

Reality was 7:45 for the first segment and 8:15 for the second segment.

We are confirmed for the 6:00 traditional on the Royal. They also had a 5:30 and a 8:00 or 8:15, don't remember.

If we get onboard and find out there is no 6:00 and only the 5:30...can we still switch permanently to Any Time? 5:30 is just too early.

A last minute time change on an Alaskan cruise happened to us also. The 6:15 dining was changed to 5:30. The MD said too many people were complaining that the 8:15 dining was too late. So, instead of making them unhappy, he made us miserable! Go figure.

Was on the Coral for a partial in March 2014 and then early dining was at 530.
