When is it best to sail..newbie

I am trying my first Grand European River Cruise on Viking in 2015-what is the best time to sail weather wise? And which room should i choose in F category

We did a Rhine River cruise on Avalon in May a few years ago and we really enjoyed it. It was quite warm in the Rhine River valley, and we had rain in Amsterdam one morning.

I think May or September would be good times to do the cruise. I have not sailed with Viking. I suggest you post this question on the River Cruise forum, someone with more experience than I can probably give you more information.
