Why would they? Surely this a specalised market with all the different flavours. It's like going on a train journey and asking the guard for some E-cigs.!!

I've never seen them in any ship stores on any of the cruises I've been on.

They had some on the Spirit over New Year - they didn't work so we got a refund.

The Gem had them when we cruised last August.

I think the sold for $15.00 to $ 20.00.

If I'm not mistaken you get like 200 puffs, might be more might be less.

We want you to be comfortable on board, so public areas throughout all our ships are smoke-free. If you smoke regular or electronic cigarettes, you can do so on your balcony, in the casino or in the Cigar Bar (where available). If you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Also, you can smoke cigarettes, pipes and cigars outside on open decks (just not around food venues, sports decks, kids’ pool areas and other designated nonsmoking areas). Smoking inside your stateroom will result in a $250 cleaning charge added to your onboard account.

If you’re 18 through 20 years of age and you have the written consent of your parents or guardian (parent or guardian must be on board), you can purchase beer or wine for yourself only when the ship is sailing in international waters (except on Alaska and Hawai‘i cruises where you must be 21 years of age to consume or purchase alcohol of any kind).* If you want to gamble in our casinos, you must have a valid ID showing you are 18 years or older. If a Guest under the age of 18 wins in the casino and cannot provide proof of age, he or she will not be paid the winnings. There is no casino on Pride of America.

Electronic cigarettes cannot be used in public areas where there is a No Smoking policy in force; simply because these cigarettes look so realistic and therefore other guests’ perception is that we are not enforcing the No Smoking rule.

PLEASE don't. Those of us with allergies and asthma have enough trouble with the random pollen and perfumes... we REALLY don't need any more random airborne chemicals from those things. Remember, you have a choice to smoke... we have less of a choice about breathing!

I believe we should follow the rules that we agreed to when we book a cruise, trip, flight, etc. etc. etc.

 

Be it smokers, e-cigs, kids in unauthorized areas, etc. And I'm a smoker!

 

Who am I to decide what rules I'm going to follow and what rules I'm not? Why should I be better than anyone else?

 

In life, there are consequences for not following rules.

I don't disagree. I'm on vacation though. I would prefer if the staff of the ship followed their own policy enforcement. Sadly, we all know that's not the case.

Also I remember reading somewhere that they are enforcing the same rules for e-cigs that they do for regular cigs around NYC. So parks, public areas... all the norms for regular cigs, are now enforced for e-cigs. Just assume the same rules apply in general.

FALSE - ANY of the ecigs that have ANY amount of liquid nicotine (many NOT ALL do), are very dangerous. In fact liquid nicotine is so dangerous that workers at (at least one of the biggest) cigarette factories in the world are required to wear full hazmat suits while handling it.

The facts are the facts. E-cig vapor contains less harmful chemicals than those already in the air we breathe. Nobody said anyone should drink or handle pure nicotine. Nor is pure undiluted nicotine used in E-Cig liquid. I smoked for over 20 years and have vaped for over 5 now. Personally, I've never felt better in my life.

I quit smoking two years ago thanks to Ecigs

I now use a ZERO nicotine menthol shisha pen (note it is NOT an ecig it is a shisha pen) - pink - looks nothing like a cigarette

I will use mine wherever whenever.

The vapour vanishes less than 6 inches from exhale - although - if I exhale down into say scarf or a piece of paper - it clears instantly.

I have NEVER ever affected anyone by use of any ecig let alone the zero nicotine.

I live in a rural area with no pollution - it is a dark skies park and a biosphere. I have no neighbours, city traffic fumes etc. ONE day in a city and my eyes stream, my sinuses block - and I get red itching.

Those of you whinging about harmless vapour which wont even come anywhere near you - need to take a look around your own doorstep.

I refuse to go back into a smoking area - I dont want to stink of cigarettes again - or expose myself to something I worked so hard to get away from.

Discretion is the key. Used discreetly - I doubt anyone even notices.

That aside, the rules say "Ecig" - mine is a "Shisha Pen" I enjoy my menthol - its harmless vegetable oil with menthol food flavouring -

I have used mine in many bars and clubs, airports, cruiseships etc - never had a problem yet and hope indeed wont have a problem with NCL.

It would be just horrible to be forced into a smoking corner once more :mad:

Have you tried the new zero nicotines liquids yet? We went down to 16mg, then 8mg, then zero. Dont notice the difference now at all! Starting to see more and more of the zero on the market now.

I was a pro-Ecigarette until a woman sat next to me in Las Vegas. It was one, I'm assuming like yours, and the smell of the vapor was awful and actually ran some of away. If you insist on using it where regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes are not welcomed, please use a non-flavored one. I certainly know that if I'm sitting next to someone on my cruises (outside the smoking area) and the smell was a putrid as the one in Vegas, I'm sorry to say that I would unfortunately have to complain.

Yes, I have. I've gradually been stepping down over time. I started with a 24mg product and now use 6mg. It's like coffee for me, no point in drinking decaf. When I get to 0mg, there's no point in vaping anymore.

 

All that said, I actually tried an analog a few months ago, just to see if I missed it. It was the most horrible thing I've ever tasted. I didn't even smoke the whole thing. YUCK!

 

I'll never go back.
