When do they assign them?

I once booked a balcony guarantee and was upgraded (no charge) to an Owner's Suite..(RCL)...It showed up about 2 weeks after booking and the cruise was still 6 months away.

Needless to say, it was the best cabin ever!!

We booked 2 months ago we less than 2 months till cruise.

sometimes right away, sometimes when you actually board. typically a few weeks before the sail date

I know it is a gamble, and I hear about cruisers being assigned some fantastic rooms. What about the not so fantastic rooms?

 

Is it worth the gamble?

Keep checking. They can assign it virtually any day. We've actually received our stateroom # upon boarding the Sensation once. You just never know. Maybe the upgrade fairy will visit. :o

Booked on a pack and go 3 and half weeks out, received an assignment 12 days out. Got a nice location 4D rather than the 1A I deserved.:)
