What do you do about eating on shore excursions?

A previous poster wrote "The question asked is if you have any FRUIT." Perhaps you misunderstood. They typically asked "do you have any food".

Here is a statement taken from a recent Celebrity Today:

I understood perfectly and was asked about fruit only. I always have a muffin and I always ask if this is ok and get a YES. I have heard that Australia and NZ are very firm about any food but all of the ports I've visited have not told me to throw away a baked goodie.

The OP is going to Canada which is more liberal then other countries. Canada also is a place where the food and water is safe and there is no language barrier so it's really easy to purchase a meal or snack in Port.

I'm probably overthinking this since we just got the e-mail about the change in time.

It's not a "medical" issue, but I do get weak and lightheaded if I don't eat regularly (and yeah, on a cruise you do seem to eat non-stop).

The shore excursion is to a (relatively) remote area (Baddeck/Bell Museum out of Sydney in Nova Scotia) so I don't think there's a stop for shopping, etc., where there would also be places to grab a bite but I might be wrong.

My DD does have type 1 diabetes- and she always has a stash of candies, etc in her purse in case she miscalculates her insulin and goes low. Maybe you can have a similar stash including some of the previous posters suggestions.

Me, I am fine going hungry, but if I was ever desperate I know where I could find some candy......;)
