clojacks Posted May 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2014 We just booked a South American cruise on the Norwegian Sun for Feb of 2016through on online cruise consolidator last week and haven't purchased their trip insurance....yet. I believe we have 21 days from deposit date. Is trip insurance available in the marketplace? Would there be any reason to "shop" for it? This will be our 14th cruise and we have never purchased it, but our ages, winter weather where we live, and family considerations have us convinced it is something we should do, but I have also heard horror stories from people trying to collect on trip insurance from this past winters travel nightmares.. Rare GeezerCouple Posted May 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Yes, and two "shopping malls" (sort of!) were mentioned in response to your previous post. You'll get more suggestions and thoughts here. We use TripInsuranceStore.com But we always recommend CALLING THEM, rather than just doing it online. We learned a LOT from Steve and the others there, and when we insure a new trip, we still call them, even though we think we want "the same kind of coverage"... because occasionally they suggest something different, due to the specifics of the trip. And we also have the annual MedJetAssist policy now, which will medevac us to the hospital or OUR choice (anywhere!) IF we find ourselves admitted as an inpatient at least 150 miles from home. It's not expensive, and also then covers us when traveling on business or just to friends/family. GeezerCouple
Ontariotrekker Posted May 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2014 I book mine through my extended health provider. Other people I know were able to get it through their stockbrokers or banking institute. Shar
