Royal princess vs oasis/allure

We are still confused which ship to have our family trip next year on. We are 7 adults and will need four staterooms. Three weeks ago we just got off the Allure of the Seas, I would go back in a heartbeat but what people said prior to my cruise was true, even with my thermostat set at lowest setting it still showed 77 in the middle of the night (on my travel alarm I have a temperature monitor) and we were warm every night and slept even without a sheet. Three of our staterooms had this problem while the other, my elderly father in law thought it was cold lol.

We are tossing between the Royal and back to the Allure's sister ship Oasis of the Seas next year, but I really wanted to try something new, so if you don't mind for those who have sailed both ships, (Royal and Oasis or Allure) can you tell me what is your first choice?

Food is important of course even the specialty restaurants. Having a very diversified breakfast as well as lunch choices in the buffet down to dinner in the main dining room (we never went to the main dining room on the Allure and did all specialty restaurants), which do you prefer? We enjoy musical activities such as singing/bands during the evening, we enjoy going to the casino at midnight till around 2am and we enjoy sitting at places having a cocktail talking to one another. A friendly staff/crew and excellent service is important, and comfortable bedding and pillows. We also enjoy a late night snack like around 1am and don't want to order room service.

Can anybody compare these two ships for us?

This is quite a difficult question. I'd love to give it a try...so here's my random and personal opinion. Discolosure: We have sailed the Allure, Oasis, and the Royal Princess. We love them all.

Here are some random thoughts:

* The Pastry Shop on the Royal Princess is second to none. If you love "sweets"...it doesn't get any better.

* If you love the sports/activities on the Allure/Oasis...you will be disappointed with the Royal Princess. No flowrider, no rock climbing wall, no skating rink, and no zipline on the Royal Princess. The only unique venue on the Royal that the Allure/Oasis doesn't have is the video shooting range located adjacent to the basketball court and golf driving cages. In addition, the sports deck on the Royal Princess provides runners and walkers to stop and use "machines" for weight training.

* Unique to Royal Princess are: SeaWalk, Vegas style water fountains, "Movies under the Star", and perhaps the best pizza in the open seas. In addition, the Royal Princess has a breathtaking "Piazza"...something quite different from the promenade on the Allure/Oasis.

There are many differences...many opinions...bottom line: Perhaps you should do a B2B. Both sail out of FLL/Port Everglades. Let us know. :)

I appreciate your help, about us (7 adults)

Three have to be sugar free

I have to be gluten free

My daughter and her boyfriend don't care for sweets

So pastries not important

We never do the zip lining, flow rider, rock climbing, etc. We don't even use the jogging track.

I would love to do a b2b but my other half has a 24/7 job and I am just lucky he is able to get away for a week without work needing him, I don't think that 14 days be an option at this time.

What we liked about the Allure was the 80's parties, we also liked the Champagne Bar and we only ate at specialty restaurants for dinner, although after this last trip, we probably never do that again on any ship, we would at least eat in the main dining room 2-3 nights from now on. We loved Vintages for lunch for paella, tapas, meats, olives, etc. We also liked the fact on the Allure there were multiple things to do in the evening at the same time, so we could choose what we wanted to see and do.

did back to back on Oasis and Royal last december. oasis is amazing. royal also amazing in its own way. food is slightly better on the royal (in my opinion anyways)

entertainment on the Oasis better.

that being said either ship really good so would go by prices and ports

For a great ship to get you to various destinations, choose the Royal.

For a ship which is the destination and you do not care where it goes, pick the Oasis or Allure.

Pretty much the way I feel. RC does mega ships better than Princess. I found the Royal disorganized compared to Allure. I would not book Royal again but would book Allure again.
