Sinbad55 Posted June 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2014 Hello. We are first time cruisers leaving for Bermuda in two weeks. If we spend the day at Horseshoe Bay and have 7:00 dinner reservations on the ship, approximately how much time should we allow to get back to the ship? Thanks for your help! :)
sebas030 Posted June 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2014 It depends on your means of transportation... By taxi expect 25 or 30 minutes in "no traffic" situation. Depending on what day it is, it could be a factor. Again depending on what day of the week it is, public transportation could run about 40 minutes and up depending... aam3 Posted June 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Remember that when you return to the ship, you might was to shower after spending all day at the beach! Nothing's worse than sitting through dinner with a seat full of sand!
ludomonster Posted June 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Nothing's worse than sitting through dinner with a seat full of sand! A wet seat full of sand. Plus, you'll want to change your clothes and have time to get ready.
meatball_nyc Posted June 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Isn't it true that you're not supposed to be wet and/or sandy when riding the buses? Is this true for the ferries as well? Curious. Robin Norwegian Breakaway July 2014 Carnival Miracle 2010 Carnival Legend 2006 Every Day at Sea is a Great Day Definitely true for the buses, but probably not strictly enforced for the ferries, if for no other reason than it probably doesn't have to be simply because of the location of the ferries versus the beaches. By the time you got from a beach to a ferry you'd probably be pretty dry.

meatball_nyc Posted June 13, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Thank you for the replies. We will be dry, clean and covered up when riding either a bus or a ferry. 23 days until we sail for Bermuda :) Robin Norwegian Breakaway July 2014 Carnival Miracle 2010 Carnival Legend 2006 Every Day at Sea is a Great Day Edited June 13, 2014 by meatball_nyc
NJ Johnny Posted June 13, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Thank you for the replies. The drivers like to have their cars kept clean and dry. They will not allow you to ride with wet clothes and many will put out plastic covering on their seats, if they see you haven't changed out of your swim apparel even if they seem dry. Another hint for Bermuda - always remember to wish the driver "good Morning" or "good afternoon" when entering. This is widely expected in Bermuda.
