TropicalAlbino Posted June 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2014 My DW and I will be sailing on Connie in November for our second Celebrity cruise. We are wondering what ballroom dancing opportunities there are while on board? Is there a specific place? We have only been on The Equinox... WestLakeGirl Posted June 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2014 You won't have to dance in the Atrium. You'll have dancing in the Rendazvous Lounge
TropicalAlbino Posted June 8, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Is there dancing in the Atrium too? Is the rendezvous very crowded? How often is dancing in the rendezvous offered? Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
cruisead Posted June 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Dancing is every night in the Rendezvous. It's much better than in the crowded atrium.
TropicalAlbino Posted June 8, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Actually maybe it's Reflections where the dancing happens? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Sometimes Refelection, yes, but later. Pre dinner it's Rendezvous.
Rare Lois R Posted June 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2014 The Rendeveux Lounge is located just forward of the main dining room and they usually have dancing before AND after dinner. The S class are totally different than the M class (deck plans). The M class Atrium Area is Guest Relations with the Grand Staircase in the center. There is no dancing there. S Class does not have a Rendeveux and the Atrium does offer an area for dancing. I would say the majority of couples I know that enjoy dancing think the M class offers a better dancefloor. Lsimon Posted June 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) Unlike the S class ships the M class have a large lounge with dance floor and space for a live band called the Rendezvous. It has been 3 years since I was last on an M class ship so things might have changed, but if they haven't: There is no dancing type entertainment in the atrium. There is dancing every night before each dinner seating and usually afterwards in the Rendezvous. They used to either have a small dance band (2 or 3 people) playing ballroom dance type music in the Rendezvous nightly with occasional appearances there by the party band or a jazz band on some nights. There is also the Sky Lounge which is actually called Revelations lounge on the Constellation. This is where the party band plays most nights after dinner. A DJ also played on their nights off and between/after their sets. The dance theme parties put on by the entertainment staff would also be held in the Sky Lounge/Revelations rather than the atrium which is used on the S class ships. I think most cruisers who enjoy dancing like the venues on the M class ships more as the venues there are more conducive to dancing and have more places to sit between dances than the atrium on S class. WestLakeGirl Posted June 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Once in a blue moon there is an hour of ballroom dancing in the sky lounge on s class ships, so watch the Daily. There are also ballroom lessons, different dance styles, offered by the dancers from the stage shows
