Mickeyc5 Posted June 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2014 We are sailing next August and it appears to me that a balcony on the starboard side is preferable. Can anyone please confirm? Clarea Posted June 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Either side will work. The captain typically turns the ship 360 degrees so everyone gets a view of the glacier. Edited June 22, 2014 by clarea
CRUISEFAN0001 Posted June 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Either side will work. The captain typically turns the ship 360 degrees so everyone gets a view of the glacier. What we experienced on Radiance a few weeks back was that upon approaching Sawyer Glacier, many people we on the top deck or 2nd from the top....to get the best views. There were also a fair number of people on the helipad at that time. As Bob indicated, the ships do a "turnaround" in the area in front of the glacier before returning down the channel. The views on the way and back are spectacular, as well as the glacier itself. Enjoy!
