Welcome to Grand Turk! What a beautiful beach!

We were docked in Grand Turk with the Carnival Liberty.

We took the tour, but likely wouldn't take another tour of Grand Turk in the future. To be honest, there isn't much on the island. The beach is the best thing about the island. Next time, we will likely stay closer to the port and just stay on the beach all day. But, it was our first time there, and we're glad we took a tour.

Woke up with room service having some hot tea (I wound up increasing the # of pots of hot water each day):

Great view of La Romana from the balcony - http://s28.photobucket.com/user/TheCruiseBoys/media/2014-06-07%20Carnival%20Breeze/DSC00432_zps9eefc36c.jpg.html

It's quite industrial! http://s28.photobucket.com/user/TheCruiseBoys/media/2014-06-07%20Carnival%20Breeze/DSC00435_zps8ed034fc.jpg.html

The night prior to La Romana, the cruise director advised everyone to wear insect repellant because of an outbreak caused by mosquitos. We did bring some and were sure to put it on. He also suggested that if you did not have a tour, you may want to stay on the ship as there isn't much to do in the port otherwise (which was true - they had 1 duty free store, and then just transportation to tours).

We decided to walk off the ship and see what it was all about. Once we looked for a minute in the store, we decided to get in a taxi to have them take us to a shopping area. Once we got to the taxi, we discussed going on a private tour, and that is what we wound up doing.

Good thing, because La Romana wound up being an absolutely beautiful city. (We were surprised!)

But first, time for breakfast in the main dining room!

Loving the photos! Keep them coming. I'm doing this same cruise next month and was wondering how much was the taxi for the private tour. Did you have to pay $25pp at Casa de Campo? Did you have access to their beach and/or pool? Any info you can provide will be great. Thanks!!

I'll update more tomorrow. :-)

Regarding the taxi, there were 4 of us, and I believe we paid $25 per person for the entire tour. We didn't pay anything at Casa de Campo, but we were only there to tour and look at the hotel then the area - we didn't have access to their pool, etc.
