Celebrity Pier Transfer To FCO

Trying to figure out what is the earliest flight I should book when we disembark at the pier in Rome going to the States. I can't self disembark so I will have to rely on the ships bus transfer system. Two questions, how long from the pier to the airport & what is the earliest most ships bus transfers start. Would appreciate your help before I book, thank - you. Ship should dock at 5:00 a.m. on a Monday.

I don't like stress so I would book the flight for noon or later.

 

Could you make an earlier flight? Probably. But sometimes delays do happen arriving to port or even finding your luggage and sometimes getting through the airport is a breeze and other times it is a zoo.

 

The drive itself is about 45 minutes.

 

I prefer to get a private transfer.

 

If you are not in a rush go with the noon or later flight. Often I see people stressed out the last few days of their cruise with the pressure of making earlier flights.

If you are taking the Celebrity transfer, they can tell you what is the earliest flight time to book a flight out. They'll probably say about the same as what's been given above.

Thank you all for your responses, any advice on the best plane routes going from Rome to MIA, FT. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach Airports. Travel is a one way in April 2015 after a TA.
