We are flying to Beijing on the 3rd November for a stay in Beijing prior to flying down to Xian and then back to Beijing to join the Sapphire Princess. Can anyone help with the weight of baggage on the internal flights or are we able to leave our heavy cases in Beijing? We are flying to Beijing on Emirates which of course has 30kgs. Thanks

I think we are on the same flight and have the same 30kg luggage allowance. We have a very active roll call for this cruise which you may like to join. The pre-tour, cruise and flights are booked through a UK travel Agent.

We recently returned from a tour of China which included four internal flights. The baggage allowance was 22Kg. Our tour company told us that only one carryon item was allowed, no additional purse or personal item, but after the first flight when we saw all the Chinese ladies with a carryon bag and a purse we ignored this and were never challenged. The standard of the Chinese Airlines was surprisingly high. They were immaculately clean, quite modern and we were served acceptable meals on flights of one hour. The airports were modern too and easy to navigate with English signage.

BTW - I'm sure you have already heard that Chinese washrooms often do not provide toilet paper or hand towels. Be prepared!
