What the heck is "CB"?????

CP here on the Cruise Critic is Coral Princess which came out before the Caribbean Princess
Officially the Coral Princess is the CO.

 

The real CP is the Sea Princess, which was around before either of the other two.

 

The official designators are:-

CB - Caribbean Princess

CO - Coral Princess

CP - Sea Princess

 

Here are the rest, in the order in which they (still) appear on the Princess website:-

DI - Diamond Princess

NP - Golden Princess

AP - Grand Princess

SA - Sapphire Princess

TP - Star Princess

DP - Dawn Princess

IP - Island Princess

SP - Sun Princess

PA - Pacific Princess

GP - Regal Princess

RP - Royal Princess

TA - Tahitian Princess

Hmmm, wonder what the abbreviation for Brilliance of the Seas is?
No such luck! Only the Sovereign gets close to that.

MA - Mariner of the Seas

NV - Navigator of the Seas

VY - Voyager of the Seas

BR - Brilliance of the Seas

JW - Jewel of the Seas

So what will the new Crown Princess be? And aren't they coming out with California Princess?
KP = Crown Princess, as far as I can tell.

I think that California Princess was a wild rumour. The next ship after KP is Emerald Princess, IIRC.

Why not go by callsigns?

 

In that case, Caribbean Princess' callsign is ZCDG8.

 

Yeah that's a lot easier to remember! :p

 

FYI people should know the callsign of the ship they're on even if they're guests.
