What is the "Bottomless Bubbles" Unlimited Soda Program ?

Carnival Cruise Lines will offer all guests the option to purchase a “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program which will allow the guest unlimited soft drinks and juices for the duration of the cruise at a one-time purchase price. Prices are as follows – a 15% gratuity will be added.

Child Rate Per Day $4.50 USD (17 years of age and younger)

Adult Rate Per Day $6.00 USD (18 years of age and older)

Upon purchasing the “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program, a sticker will be placed on the guest’s Sail & Sign card. “Bottomless Bubbles” can be purchased at the ship’s Casino Bar and Pool Bar.

In all areas on board where beverage service is offered, guests may show the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker and receive a glass of the carbonated soft drink of their choice. Juices may also be requested. One 16 ounce glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the Sail & Sign card with the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker attached. The “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program is non-transferable and may not be shared. From a can and served over ice.

Good to know, I was about to post asking the same question. That sways my decision about getting the soda card. My last cruise on RCL, most soda came from a gun, so it always tasted bad (as is the case most anywhere).

Can anyone comment on the service you get with soda refills on a Carnival ship? Can you get them quickly & easily? On that same RCL cruise it was kind of a hassle, since there was usually a line for soda, and servers didn't seem thrilled to fill my free soda refill when they could otherwise have been pushing paid drinks w/ tips.

Still debating on whether to buy the soda cards.

you are permitted to bring a 12 pack of soda per person in your carry on when you board the ship. also you can pick up a 12 pack while in port and bring it on board as well. So may be cheaper to go that rout unless they drink a ton of soda.

Reading the FAQ's, is juice also something you have to purchase or is it available at mealtimes? We are debating getting a card for our son on our upcoming cruise, although we are not big soda drinkers. But we all like to have juice in the mornings with our breakfast. (Our last two cruises were Disney so this wasn't an issue.)

I know there is orange juice and I think one or two others in the mornings with breakfast. There is also lemonade available all day in the Lido buffet area. Other than in the mornings, all juices other than lemonade are at an additional cost but are included in the endless bubbles card.

Is the soda from a can or from a tap at the bar?

That's what I would like to know for the Freedom. DH much prefers it out of a gun. Hot soda poured over ice equals flat and nasty IMO. Won't be buying the package if that's what we get.

They served them hot right from the cans sitting on the bar last year.

This is the only way I have seen them serve it from cans. Plus, you only get what they pour from the can into the glass; they keep the rest of the can for the next person.

I've ordered them from waiters on Lido, at the bars (on Lido and in the Casino) and in the MDR. Only in the MDR did I ever have to wait more than 2 minutes. However, I was never pushed to buy another drink. I usually just went up to the bar myself though.

Funny it says 16 oz but that would be more than a can so it should theoretically be a full can.

Anyhow shouldn't the adult price be lower? After all the kids drink more soda. 😄

Here is what wrote about the Soda Program on my Cruise Tips page.

Soda Card - If you buy the soda card while in the embarkation port, you pay sales tax. By waiting until the next morning, you save around $8 to $10. I suggest using a Carnival branded water bottle when ordering a soda. They will put ice in it and fill it up with soda, with large bottles taking more than 12 oz. Otherwise they fill a glass with ice and pour in the soda, not giving you the whole 12 oz., and they never give you what is remaining in the can.

Not sure what the problem is if they don't fill up the glass with a full can. When you are done, get another one. You have a soda card, you can get them all day at no additional cost.

True. I personally don't have an issue with that. It's using hot canned soda to begin with. Think I'll just wait to board and ask a couple of bartenders in different places before we get DH the soda card.;)
