Maligator Posted July 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Are there any day trips by boat on the St Lawrence? We're not looking for a sunrise-sunset tour. Maybe a few hours to see some nice scenery. If not, I think we'll just stick to walking around the city, working off some of those buffet calories. Also, is there a way to tell which berth we'll be in? I think I saw the previous sailing will be at 30. If that's the case, is there a place to shoot from across the St Charles that will provide a nice city backdrop with the Summit in the shot? I'm planning on running over to Levis if we're in another berth. Thanks!

Rare mskaufman Posted July 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2014 We were there a week ago today. Don't know exactly what berth we were in but we were at what was called the cruise terminal. The ferry to Levis was very close and was something like $3, At the next berth there was a sightseeing boat but we did not check it out.

See: http://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/vessel-schedules/seasonal-schedule Celebrity organized a shuttle service last year to old town. See the Preisman's photo journal: http://thepreismans.com/canada_newe_p3.htm If you like smaller ships, off the beaten path type of day/night cruise, the quebecregion web site also mentions the "Excursions Martimes Quebec" company: http://www.quebecregion.com/en/guided-cruise-tour/
Jolie_Cruiser Posted July 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) What or where is the Summit? Do you by any chance mean the Citadel? The Summit is the name of the ship. On October 11th, the Summit will be docked at dock 103. Maligator Posted July 11, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Nuts. I was hoping for 21, 22 or 93. Oh well. We'll just have to walk a little farther in Levis. As for the river tour, I'm not sure I can get my wife on a Zodiac. We might just make do with what we see from the ship or take the Louis-Jolliet tour. Thank you, Jolie_Cruiser.
