Very good idea to get trip insurance.

I was caretaker for my Mom.

One time we were going on an NC!l cruise and she was hospitalized a few days before the cruise.

Another time, I developed double pneumonia before a Princess cruise.

In both cases, we were reimbursed by travel insurance.

Also. a Platinum level perk is an enhanced insurance plan.

I hope you enjoy this planned cruise!

At the very least watch David McCullough's NOVA DVD "A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama". Even though it may be shown on the ship, I heard passengers who didn't know the history of it's construction who were unimpressed thinking some locks, a lake & a river & naively thinking it wasn't such a big deal. :(

DH has already bought the DVD for me for my Christmas stocking!

Heck, I took it as a compliment that I'd done my research and kinda knew what I was doing... :D

I am glad you took it that way -- of course that was exactly what I meant

(Actually, it was a sarcastic comment I meant to post on a thread where someone had described an abysmal experience at a brick and mortar TA in Australia! But I am glad it worked well on this thread!)

Cheers!
