Ship Of Doom The Brilliance of the Sea

Recommended Posts

 Good article in the "National Enquirer" this week about the Honeymoon Cruiser who went missing from the Brilliance of the Sea on July 12th. Report mentions something about 50K cash that was stored in his safe. A must read for those interested in what may have happened to him. Let's hear what you think about this.

I take everything I hear that appears in the "National Enquirer" with a grain of salt. This is a "Rag"! I never read it but so many people do and believe it. It was so sad to hear that this man went overboard and it is believed by authorities it was foul play. Do hope the proper authorities find the person or persons responsible for His disappearance and are punished.

Some people look at this paper as a bible, myself I never buy it but it seems that my doctors office does. So I read it while wating to be seen. It it interesting how fast things like this get into these types of tabloids. Goes to show you that some people will print anything that will sell these papers. Just though I would mention it. I am sure that there are people out there who would be very interested in this post.

How does the title of this thread add to the rational discussion of this situation, or are you quoting the headline of the National Enquirer piece? If the latter, doesn't that say all that needs to be said about the paper and its approach to news?

I confess: I bought the NE today, and I read the article. You can all beat me with wet Wall Street Journals.... :D :D

Every once in a while I want to catch up on the stupid stuff.

This article about the poor honeymooner is old stuff, and a rehash of all the info that's been reported so far. Actually, almost all of it was on the CC thread on this board weeks ago.

I didn't know that people actually read the Enquirer anymore.

I actually have a subscription to it. I enjoy reading it for the entertainment value, however what they had on the Laci Petersen and Lori Hacking story before it reached the national headlines was the same information that was reported on the news.

Oh yeah the National Enquirer is the epitome of good journalism.

I never said that it was the epitome of good journalism, I read it for the Entertainment value, however they do have some articles that when the story does make national headlines it is the same information that is all Im saying. There is not alot of media the is the epitome of good journalism, even the Chicago Tribune has a tendency to "make things up".

OK, now we are getting to the bottom of this mystery. The honeymooner probably met up with the same bungi jumping professional that lifted the money from that other cruising couple while the couple was sleeping (from last year or whenever that thread was around). You old CC members know the one - where all the skepics thought the poster had lost the money in the casino while his wife slept and then tried to say it was stolen from his cabin during the night. But after much speculation and possibilities offered up, it was decided by a majority that a bungi jumping thief had entered the cabin from the balcony via bungi cord from above and stolen the cash from the bedside table (or where ever it was supposedly left) and then made his escape via the same bungi cord.

CruiseDiva1: don't apologize. We're just teasing and joking about the National Enquirer. You probably didn't see the previous thread about this, and thought it was recent news.

There's no MYOB involved: you can post about this just like everyone else, and if my post above came on too strong, then MY apologies to YOU.

I remember that. But I thought we all agreed it was Garfield.

Are you sure? I was thinking that Garfield was only a passing possibility. The preponderance of evidence seemed to point to the big bad bungi man. But perhaps I am remembering wrong.

StretchO might remember. He was heavily involved in the investigation.

On the long, previous thread about this (the one they poofed), there was a link to a blog by a passenger. She had all of this information that is now coming out about the money, the Russians, etc.

The article in the NE is a rehash of all that was in that thread. As a matter of fact, it was either that thread or another one at the same time (also poofed) where a reporter posted his email address looking for more information from passengers on the ship.

Actully this topic was on the news last night. That is, the missing honeymooner. Greta VAn Sustrun interviewed Dr. Henry Lee about the crime scene, or lack thereof. Hopefully, US authorities can get to the bottom and determine whether a crime occurred, or he simply "fell overboard"

Does anyone really believe someone would carry 50,000 in cash on put it in the safe, would it even fit. And how would you explain that to customs when returning!!!
