Save 10% on Carnival Gift e-Cards through Verizon program

So happy to have heard about these. I am for sure signed up to receive the updates to this thread. Can't wait for them to return. I am assuming that you can use your Carnival cc card to buy them too. Does it still qualify for double points on the Carnival card?

Thanks

Unfortunately no about the carnival credit card. Well at least for me I purchase through Verizon and it always goes through as Verizon Selects on the bill, but hey I'm still saving 10% anyways as well as building regular points on my credit card. You might want to go back as the other poster stated and check if there are some more lengthy posts with this title and try subscribing to them also. I always use this one as my email alert and have been very fortunate to secure quite a few cards. Now that they do place a limit of 5 - $100 cards per a purchase, it takes a little longer to build up, but it does make it more fair for everyone to have a better chance to get some. :)

So how long do they take to ship these? I ordered 5 $100 cards on Wednesday and haven't heard anything about shipping yet. I'm not super worried but just curious.

That can vary according to other posts. Whenever I order total amounts under $500, they are sent in the regular mail and shipped very quickly. However whenever I have ordered $500 or more (whether it is 1- $500 card or 5 - $100) they usually call to verify that I did make the purchase and usually takes longer but they arrive by UPS and require signature confirmation. I ordered only 2 - $100 cards on Wednesday and they showed as shipped on Friday, 2 days later, I expect them before the end of next week. For me it's easier to order smaller amounts and receive them quickly than to have to worry about receiving the verify call and then waiting a week after that and to make arrangement to be at home on the delivery day. That whole process took about 1 1/2 weeks total time. But it's definitely worth the savings, regardless of the wait time. :D

Thanks. I didn't realize I could check the status. I just looked and it says the order is pending.

I ordered 5 $100 cards last Wednesday (9/9) and today it still says pending. I called and they said they needed to verify that I made the purchase. Odd thing was that they "verified" the purchase by reading the shipping address and email to me to see if that was correct.

The thing is that my shipping address for this purchase is different than my Verizon account billing address because we recently moved, and the email on the purchase was my husbands email even though our account is in my name with my email. I also paid with the credit card on file with my Verizon account (I didn't have to enter it to make the purchase), which is in my name, not my husbands name. If I had gotten access to someone's account and made the fraudulent purchase with the credit card stored in their account and shipped it to my address and used my email, I could then call to verify by providing them the address that I wanted my illegal purchase sent to. That doesn't verify anything. They should have asked me for info from my Verizon account or something.

To top it off, the rep said she was moving it to processing while I was talking to her and then advised it could take 15 days to ship. It still says pending and we leave for our vacation in 30 days. Should be plenty of time, but I'm nervous now, as our sign and sail funds are tied up in those cards.

Don't worry it shouldn't take that long. I had the same thing happen about the verification, that's why I won't buy more than 4 - $100 cards in a single purchase. The smaller shipments go out right away and usually are received within a week by regular mail. The one time I had to wait for the verification it took almost a week for them to call me and then another 3 days for shipment from UPS. Hope they ship soon for your cruise!

AARP has them today, 9/16, so check and see if they are there as they seem to show up at the same time!

Where do I even look on AARPS website for the cards. I cannot find these and have looked before....

Once on the AARP site look in the upper right sideish and look for

"rewards for good" and then create an account, perform some simple quizzes to earn some points and order away, it costs 1000 points for every $100 card but costs you $90, 10% is 10% and every little bit helps!!

Ahhhh....there it is!! Thank you! I kept looking in discounts, deals, and such. I use Verizon but when those points are used up, this is a good option! Thanks!

GOOD LUCK!

Not sure if you are a AARP member but we get double the points for each quiz, I now have over 75K in points even after using 3000 today.....:D

Woo. Somehow managed to grab another 5 just before they sold out. That's it for me! I won't need anymore for a while. But now I'm really nervous about getting them in time.

I'm not even sure I will spend that much on the ship. Anyone know if they can be used for the Night Owls program?

Also, can I call Carnival and have them applied to my S&S account in advance?

They can be used to pay your sign and sail account just like cash, so the Night Owls program would be included. Just take them to a Kiosk or the guest services desk and have them applied to your balance. Don't use moret han you think you'll spend because any balance not used will be sent on a new card. But it takes a couple of weeks for them to get it to you.

Ah, so we can load them as we go? Or pay with all of them at the end would work too, I suppose.

Can you cash out at the casino?

I just get nervous walking around with all that "cash".

Actually on our last cruise in June, they just sent me a check in the mail for the money left over, probably about $300. I was prepared to receive a gift card to use on our next cruise in October, but since they sent me a check, I just turned around and used it to purchase more gift cards and collect on the 10% again. That way you don't have to worry about carrying the cash after the cruise. My husband laughed because he said I was double-dipping, lol. Curious to see how they will handle it on my next cruise, never know. :D

Good to know! Even if they don't send cash, I am left with gift cards whether I put them all on my account or not. I'll probably just add it all for convenience and then wait for them to return either a gift card or maybe I will get lucky and get a check. Or maybe I will just go wild and spend it all.

Also, I say go ahead and double dip, lol.
