awhcruiser Posted August 28, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 28, 2014 MTD is the way to go. You CAN socialize AND have more flexibiliy If you are social, don't do MTD....do traditional and ask for a large table! Tablemates are SO MUCH FUN! With MTD, you will most likely be eating alone nightly, as most MTDers don't want company.
legalx Posted August 31, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Make all show reservations BEFORE you board. Best way to avoid the wait line which is always long!
CCruiser1234 Posted August 31, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Gators, Ocean Aria must must see. Arrive early for a good seat. It's that good. Also, and I haven't seen anyone mention it, socialize in Dazzles. It's a nice nightclub IMO overlooking the boardwalk. Email me for pics if you wish. -bob
pinkrosesdeb Posted August 31, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 31, 2014 We found that we met some really great friends at MTD. The tables are close together and we sat with the same group of people almost every night. We really enjoyed it, same waiter and staff also. Rare Lionesss Posted August 31, 2014 #30 Share Posted August 31, 2014 If able I would book the ships tour that takes you to the bridge, engineers room, galley and theatre. It was well worth the money, and the behind the scenes are something not everyone can experience. Sea Ya
Mikeyto Posted August 31, 2014 #31 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Not a huge deal, but I wouldn't miss the piblic balconies on the aft end of the passenger corridors on decks 11, 12, and 14. Also the outside deck over the bridge wings via the forward passenger corridor on deck 14 port side. Is the deck over the bridge wings accessible? I use a wheelchair and am considering a cruise on Oasis or Allure. Thanks!

I seem to recall some sort of small ledge thay we had to traverse going out the door at the end of the passenger corridor.

jcc1025 Posted August 31, 2014 #34 Share Posted August 31, 2014 I would second what someone said on size. We have sailed every class and was a little worried when we booked Oasis. I just could not believe how they have organized both of those ships to make it not seem so crowded. Of course the Windjammer can be crowed but on this ship there are so many other options than you just never feel it. We loved Oasis so much we turned right about and sailed Allure. Great ships and will be back as soon as we can. The pool show was our favorite show. You kind of loose the sense that you are on a ship at sea and when you watch what they do on a moving ship is amazing.
tiggeril Posted September 1, 2014 #35 Share Posted September 1, 2014 My trick to avoid the crowds is to do your thing at "odd times." Have breakfast before 8 or after 9, lunch after 1, etc. The more flexible you can be with your timing, the less stressed you'll be. :)
pinkroses Posted September 1, 2014 #36 Share Posted September 1, 2014 We enjoyed Vintages in Central Park. Wine and tapas. Also be sure to walk the track on deck five. Beautiful views on the aft. Nice quiet place to sit there as wl!!
