LA_CA_GAL Posted August 15, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 15, 2014 Dominican Republic, 1978, got on the island and the army decided to have a coup. Interesting day. Also, one night, the casino bar ran out of Coors Light.

Rare richstowe Posted August 16, 2014 #30 Share Posted August 16, 2014 The scariest experience aboard a ship wasn't on a ship. We took a great tour in Dominica. We got to the last stop ,The Champagne Reefs (amazing) late, so we left late. DW realized we were running late and the traffic was horrible on a very narrow single lane road though town after town. The driver drove like a maniac but traffic was traffic. At one point the guide with classic islands calm said "Don't be worried. We be OK as long as we return before that boat". He was pointing to a diving excursion boat which we watched as we both raced back to the port. We beat the boat and actually arrived just just on time while the ship tour was 5 minutes late. It was impressive how calm our guide was but I guess he wasn't going to miss his cruise.;)
Life is Good Cruising Posted August 16, 2014 #31 Share Posted August 16, 2014 Had a stalker last year, very scary, he faced his own *Karma* for the rest of the cruise.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted August 16, 2014 #32 Share Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Our 1st cruise was to Bermuda on Zenith, a smaller ship by todays standard. We spent the last day trying to out run a hurricane. Waves & wind were so bad all outside areas & decks were locked down. The captain kept making announcements that we should be out of the weather soon and asking the ladies to please wear flat shoes, no heals. Things didn't calm down until we reached the Long Island Sound. Didn't keep us from taking 12 more cruise & counting. :D The worst thing was getting ready to disembark and turning on the news the hear that my boss had died.
