orchestrapal Posted August 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2014 Besides the culinary classes you can pay for; Are there any cooking demonstrations on board? First timer. Usually one per cruise, up to 14 days. There could be a second one on a longer cruise
hypercafe Posted August 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2014 Yes, in the show lounge. We had a few, guess it depends on how many sea days. Sent from my XT1032 using Forums mobile app
irishwench69 Posted August 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2014 Hi, just back from a cruise on Marina. There were at least 2 cooking demos on board from our cruise. Look out for announcements in Currents (the daily newsletter).
CintiPam Posted August 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2014 The cooking demos are great fun. Two chefs, one usually the head guy, and they really like to exchange insults, jokes. etc. You are given a copy of the recipes for all they prepare. Plus afterwards everyone can try some lovely food. Hawaiidan Posted August 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2014 About 1 or 2 per week I found. They can be very enlightening for picking up a subtle techniques and presentation/garnish ideas. In this respect, I found them better than the cooking classes which are short and sweet and focus on the simplest things . Its not a in depth thing more of a sip wine yack with your fellow students and have a good time.
