Dress code

How strict is the dress code in the MDR on Divina? We live in Florida and my hubby never wears long pants. If he wears a nice pair of shorts and a golf shirt will they allow us in?

There were a few people in nice shorts in the MDR, not many but not on gala nights.

We only saw kids in shorts, to be honest. Our table mates forgot it was formal night and came down in regular attire and were not allowed in the dining room. You can try wearing shorts, but may want to have the pants on stand by, just in case

I haven't dressed up for a formal nite in 10 years and have never been denied access to any MDR. I wear neat clothes (no jeans) and either a golf shirt or regular shirt. If they deny me access, there will be a big fight over that. It doesn't say anywhere that you MUST dress up.

Cheers

I don't know what their original outfit that they were wearing that caused them to be denied entry.....

I'm sure the OP meant to say "My hubby never wears pants". The fact that they live in Florida or Timbuktu is immaterial. We live in Florida too. My husband wears shorts, pants and (OMG) suits! That said, we were in the YC and a gentleman came to dinner several nights, including Gala night in shorts. No one said a thing. Personally, people can show up in pajamas and it wouldn't affect my dinner at all.

I was on August 9 sailing. The only time we saw anyone turned away from MDR (our table was very near the door) was on gala night when a family showed up in beachwear (short shorts, tank tops). Attire on gala night varied from black tie formal down to khaki pants & golf shirts. I don't think I ever saw anyone in the MDR in shorts (even nice shorts) any night, but that doesn't mean they weren't there or weren't let in, I just didn't notice it.
