January in the Bahamas

January weather in the Bahamas is really variable. It could be beautiful, sunny and hot or it could be chilly and windy. It depends on if there is a cold front going through. We've been to the Bahamas a couple of times in January and so far we've been lucky and gotten sunny weather. But the water is definitely too cold for swimming! :)

We were in Nassau in December 2012, and wr had no issues swimming in the ocean. Mind you, we live snow and ice in Ohio, so our standards were pretty low :), but I didnt hear any grumbling from the kiddos. We will be going again this December and fully plan to swim in the ocean again.

Was there this past January - It was freezing BUT it was freezing everywhere that week ...Polar Vortex. ( it was 55 the day we stopped in Florida!)

We went to Atlantis and all the lifeguards and staff had long pants, jackets and hats on. We still went in the pools though.....they thought we were nutz!
