Help me pick an airport - MIA or FLL

Which flight do you think will be easier for us to make:

11:15 a.m. from MIA

12:00 noon from FLL

It will Sunday Feb 22, the end of President's week. We have FTTF booked for one cabin and I am obsessively checking for the opportunity to purchase another for the second cabin. We would either do self-assist or luggage assist to save time.

Price is about the same, even with SAS for 4 people vs. $25 flat rate taxi.

Miami from my experience is always busy, long lines at the USAir counter, long walks, long security lines.

Thank you!

We never book a flight before noon regardless of port/airport. Lots of people book in the 11am hour and make it just fine, but we do not like to be stressed on debarkation morning.

You don't need FTTF for debarkation. Just fill out the card that you will be doing self assist upon debarkation and you can get off early (hoping there are no delays.)

We are sailing from Miami (sorry, I left out that important piece of information!)

Won't FTTF allow us to get off the ship extra early?

We had FTTF on the Carnival Magic two months ago. We were given Zone 1 for leaving the ship. As with all things Carnival, your experience may vary.

The good news is you are one of three ships in port that day.

I'm not thrilled about either one and they both have some risk.

I would go with Miami because the distance is shorter.

Just be sure you are first off the ship.

I would grab a taxi.

Taxi from POM to MIA takes about 15 minutes and costs a flat fare of $25+tip for the cab, not per person -- same fare for a van cab full of passengers and bags.

Shuttle from POM to FLL costs about $15+ per person and takes 40-45 minutes.

MIA is your easy choice assuming flights cost about the same.

If you take your own bags, you'll be in the first group anyway. All self disembarkation is off first.
