Just heard from someone that the Divina dont have an ATM machine anywhere on the ship, yet the slot machines take only cash. Well that sure makes alot of sense, Maybe this explains why Gambee mentioned it was the most empty casino he's seen on a cruise in his review. Is there another way to get cash while you're on the ship? or do you have to bring tons of cash which I tend to not feel comfortable with.

Divina does not have an ATM on the ship. The best way to get cash and to avoid the 10% fee is to sit at one of the tables in the casino and use your room key to buy chips. Play a hand or two and then take your chips to the cashier. You'll avoid the fee and still be able to get cash,,it is a bit of a quirky way to do this,,but MSC does not bank here in the U.S.,,all financial transactions go through their main offices and banks in Europe. BTW,,when we were onboard,,,the casino was packed. I waited for almost two hours before a seat opened up at either the poker or blackjack table.

You can get cash from the casino cashier desk free of charge. They will charge your cruiseaccount with the amount, very easy. :) So the casino cashier is the ATM onboard:D

Are you sure about this?

I can get, let's say $500 cash...charged to my cruisecard account. But...since it's cash...I don't need to "spend" it in the casino . I can just take it with me off the ship?

Or...am I missing something?

You don't need to spend it in the casino, we spent it ashore and on the slotmachines. I'm not sure if they have a limit of how much you can charge the cruisecard account but we charged USD 100 several times during the cruise. You can also have cash at the reception desk but there they will charge you a fee of 3% of the amount.

When I sailed her you can just use your room key for the slots it just adds it to your sea pass card. There was no fee. If you needed cash put in as certain amount then cash it out and bring the slip to the cashier. Easy peasy.

I hate to sound stupid.....but;

Does the Divina issue 2 cards? A room key and a sea pass?

And you put the room key in the slot? How do you add money to it? Something you program on the slot?

And how do you cash out? It's all on the room keys? Or is there a Tito?

And what do you bring to the cashier?

And at the end....the money you put on the room key is part of your final bill.

I hope the slot attendant speaks English !

You are issued just one card Tabby which functions not only as your room key, but as well as your onboard charge card. When you sign in at the terminal you will be asked for a credit card in which all of your onboard spending will be charged to. An immediate hold of $150.00 will be placed on your credit card and then once onboard, if your onboard spending is close to reaching that $150.00, another $150.00 hold will be placed on your credit card.

In the casino, if you were to play any of the table games,,you can request a dollar amount in casino chips once you hand the dealer your room key. The pit boss will take your room key,,swipe it,,and then bring you a receipt to sign for the amount of chips you would like to purchase at the table. The slots are similar in which you insert your room key and tell the machine how many credits you would like to purchase. Once you are finished playing, cash out of the slot machine and take the receipt it prints for you to the cashier.

BTW, very cool signature picture Mikesa1721:) Love it:D Are you in for the maiden voyage? :)

MsTabbyKats, all the slotmachines have English instructions :) Happy playing

Thanks Norwegian!!! Oh absolutely!!!! I'm hoping the maiden TA will be available for us to book here in the states. I may need to get to Black Level status to have a chance. If not,,,we'll definitely be on the very first sailing if she is ported out of Miami. Heck,,,we might make a b2b out of it!!! :D

Casino cashier will give you cash and charge to your account with no fees.

Also-there is one day on the cruise where if you put your card into a slot machine and charge $10.00 to your room, you will get $20 in credit. You can cash it out and get the extra $10!!!
