Hotel in san juan?

trying to find a hotel in san juan for 1 night before our cruise in feb, a lot are already sold out. Found Verdanza hotel, courtyard marriott and embassy suites but it is in dorado del mar beach not sure if that is close to the port. also not sure what area to stay in .... any help would be appreciated !!!!!!

Stay in Condado it is close to port but not as expensive as Old San Juan hotels.... keep looking on the online sites as there will be cancellations. Isla Verde is not a bad option either. We are staying at the embassy Dorado del Mar resort after our Jan cruise. We have never stayed there before but it does look like it is about 20-25 min away from the Pan Am pier. We have always had good luck with price line.... bidding for hotels in the San Juan area. Have won the Caribe Hilton, Condado Plaza, and Radisson Ambassador and all were great. Keep trying.

It really depends on what is most important to you: beach, proximity to port, or seeing Old San Juan?

If you are arriving late and just want to place to sleep, stay right near the airport. If you have time and a desire for beach time, look at the resorts right on the beach - Isla Verde, Condado. If you want to immerse yourself in the true sights, sounds and culture of the area, stay in right in the heart of Old San Juan, you will be within walking distance of all of the major sights and it is an easy, reasonable taxi ride to Pan Am.

we have been there before , we are not getting in till around 2 and sailing the next day . so really not much time to do anything...
