What consequences for a promo upgrade?

I noticed that Celebrity has an Exciting Deal pricing for my Dec 1/14 Australia cruise. The deal I would be interested in is for Concierge Class. I know that you cannot get the benefit of the Pick your Perk promo if you pay a reduced promo fare. My question is this, since I paid a regular fare for my present booking (in an oceanview), am I allowed the benefit of the Pick your perk promo if I were to pay to upgrade to Concierge Class under the Exciting Deal promo? I have, after all, already paid a non discounted fare for what I presently have... All I want to do is give Celebrity more money and help them sell out their ship;) I certainly do not want to lose my beverage package with such a move. Your feelings and or knowledge would be appreciated.

Since Exciting Deals are usually for new bookings only, I doubt you will be able to do anything since you are already booked...

It doesn't hurt to ask....just call celebrity or your travel agent. Based on experience, if you don't like the first answer when you call celebrity, call again...they aren't always consistent.

Good point! My question is moot.:eek: Thought it was a good loophole to conserve my beverage package. Shucks.:rolleyes:
