Relevance of Letters on bottom of Baggage Tags

Recommended Posts

First letter is portion of ship along the length.

F forward

M mid ships or middle (guessing on letter but get idea)

A aft

 

Second letter is the side.

P port or left

S starboard or right

 

Then there is the deck number and or name.

My luggage tag says AS.(this is on the bottom like OP is asking)

It also says A...(my cabin #)

I am on Aloha deck, so does it mean Aloha Starboard?:confused: or AFT Starboard?

I know I don't need to worry about this as I don't really need to know this info.(only luggage loaders and off loaders need this info.)

Aft starboard. The letter immediately in front of your cabin # is the deck, i.e., Aloha.
