Mary Ann 2 Posted October 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2014 We're not going to Sicily until next year, so we can't really see the variety of excursions available. I was hoping someone out there is going to Sicily yet this fall (or has been and remembers) and has access to their Cruise Personalizer to answer a question. In researching Sicily, I came upon an independent excursion to the Valley of the Temples in the southern part of Sicily. I'm wondering if Princess offers anything here or if it's too far from Palermo for our 8 hr. stop there. The independent tour does not list how long it is and you have to contact them to find out any details. Anyone know if this is possible?
Rare cruisemom42 Posted October 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2014 You can see shore excursions offered by Princess in Palermo here: http://www.princess.com/excursion/exlistfordestination.page?portid=PMO&t=E&exType=S I don't know if that's all of them, but it gives you an idea. I think doing the Valley of the Temples might be hard with only an 8-hour port stop, but you can always contact the private company and find out what they can offer -- you're not under any obligation to book. Mary Ann 2 Posted October 7, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 7, 2014 I looked at this already, but I can't believe these are the only excursions that they will offer. From past experience, it seems like these are only a sample of what might be offered that is why I wondered if anyone had access to the actual excursions being offered this fall. euro cruiser Posted October 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2014 I'm putting together a day trip from Palermo to Agrigento for a group on a land trip and I think this would be difficult within the constraints of a limited port day. It takes a minimum of two hours just to travel from Palermo to Agrigento by road and a bus would take even longer. Add on the time required to gather the group, board the bus, etc. at both ends of the trip and you're looking at between 5 - 6 hours just in transit time. In other words, unless you have a long port day, this simply doesn't work.
