live2cruise2222 Posted October 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2014 Hello fellow CC members, I am trying to decide if I should purchase the soda package. I know on NCL website it is $52.36 per person (for 7 day cruise) but how much is a single soda on board? Thanks in advance!!! :)
stevenq99 Posted October 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I think something like $2.50. I bought it and thought it was worth the money. They give you a cup that is bigger than what they serve at the bars.
Rare sparks1093 Posted October 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2014 If you are drinking 3 or more sodas a day it is worth it.

zap99 Posted October 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Thank you guys, sounds like it is worth it for us! :D Roughly 2 is breakeven, 3 a profit, but the convienience of getting a fresh soda whenever you want is worth the cost. Top tip. Use the plastic NCL cup around the pool, but in the bars/resturants just ask for what you want and they give it to you in a proper glass, ice, lemon etc.
Disneycruisers Posted October 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I'm not really a Pepsi fan, but since they serve Pepsi products, what other sodas from the Pepsi line? (Sierra Mist, and do they serve root beer?) Thanks!:)
Rhea98 Posted October 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2044570 post # 7 shows sodas. You can have steward stock your mini fridge if you don't get soda package. I don't remember if the lemon lime was Sierra Mist. I don't think it was 7Up. AandBmom Posted October 23, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 23, 2014 I understand they give you a cup, do you fill it yourself at refill stations around the ship? Is it the coke machine where you pick from lots of different flavours? Also, if you don't use the cup, do you have a sticker on your cruise card or how does it work? Is there a different price for children?

PensFan123 Posted October 23, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 23, 2014 No --everyone does not have to purchase the soda package. We were on the Breakaway in October and my husband got the sticker and I did not. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Everyone in a cabin does not have to purchase the card, that's only if you are getting the UBP (all adults have to buy the UBP and any minors have to buy the soda card). If someone on board said that and made everyone in your party purchase the card they were mistaken.
spidybabe Posted October 23, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 23, 2014 If you purchase the soda plan before boarding....all in the cabin must buy it....but if you buy onboard...you can purchase for only one. If you like coke products(soda) you can bring your own on board. We always do, but we live close to port, so all it evolves is putting a luggage tag on a case, and handing it to the porter. pe4all Posted October 23, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 23, 2014 If you purchase the soda plan before boarding....all in the cabin must buy it....but if you buy onboard...you can purchase for only one. Safe sailing This is correct. I bought the soda plan upon boarding, as it would have been wasted on the others in my cabin. I thought lugging the cup around would be a pain, but found it to be okay. They also honored the sticker in the specialty restaurants!
AandBmom Posted October 23, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Are there self serve stations around the ship or do you always have to ask a staff?

Safe sailing Sounds like more of a programming glitch than policy. When we bought excursions for example we could get a different excursion for all, not sure why it can't be that way for the soda card.
Rare sparks1093 Posted October 23, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Are there self serve stations around the ship or do you always have to ask a staff? You have to get it from the staff, NCL doesn't have refill stations yet.

SaveFarris Posted October 23, 2014 #21 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Are there self serve stations around the ship or do you always have to ask a staff? NCL has their beverage contract with Pepsi, so you'll need to wait for these to gain mass acceptance before self-serve comes to the boats.
CARALOU20 Posted October 23, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Someone asked in a earlier post if they have Root Beer. It is not listed as an available product but I see they have Root Beer floats in O'Sheehans. Anyone ever try to get a glass of Root Beer there? Rare sparks1093 Posted October 23, 2014 #24 Share Posted October 23, 2014 They're probably trying to prevent sharing? If that were the case then they would require all in the cabin to purchase the card once on board also, which isn't the case.
