robin13 Posted October 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2014 We are getting off of the Allure and needing a rental car for the day as our flight isn't until that night. What size car should I rent so all three bags fit in the trunk? There will be four of us altogether and then some small carryons. Also does anyone know of any real cheap places to rent from that will pick us up from Port Everglades and take us to the airport so we can pick up the car? Clarea Posted October 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) We can usually fit our 3 suitcases in the trunk of what they call a "full" size car. Edited October 9, 2014 by clarea
aria48 Posted October 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) I would agree on the "full size" to be safe, for 3 large bags. A "mid size" you can usually get 2 large + 1 small, but not always 3 large. Edited October 11, 2014 by aria48
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2014 I would go with an SUV since you also mentioned carry ons. Keith
wieslaw Posted October 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Hi, you have mentioned that you will need the rental car for a day, ..... that means that probably the car will be left in some places unatended ..... so the baggage if visiable might be tampting the wrong people. A full size with large trunk might hide the bags. I looked at some cars and I think that the Ford Fussion has a large trunk.
Bowie MeMe Posted October 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2014 I would go with an SUV since you also mentioned carry ons. Keith SUV's usually cost more. I would go with full size car but not the premium which is usually large but more upscale. At the rental desk, just ask nicely if there is a car that fits all your luggage under your rate. The rental agent has some choice but only the choice within category guidelines and NO you won't get a big car for an economy price.
