Thanks for your updates. We board on the 18th when you are done with this fabulous ship. I can't wait to read more of your reviews. Makes the anticipation of next week even greater. Who are your officers? Is Klaus on this ship by any chance? I've sailed with him before and he is fabulous! :rolleyes:

No from what I understand Klaus is in a corporate position....not sure.

 

I will keep posting, hopefully with pix

 

Burn the floor was AWESOME....dinner at Le Bistro, not so much, though I did like the French Press coffee! LOL. More details on that later....

Cool! We're still wanting to try either the Getaway or Breakway, but not a fan of either itinerary. Surprised about LeBistro...never met one of those I didn't like....always our favorite restaurant. :)

Good morning. I would bet you will be re-routed or reverse order. All of our planes in San Juan are being moved out today. But hey a re-routed cruise is better than no vacation, right??

 

Klaus is in a Corporate position however, he often sails on the newer ships as HD. I was on the Epic Inaugural when we met him. Fabulous man!

 

Question from another message board. Were muster drills held indoors or out by the boats?

Ok wow you guys know more than me. No words on a reroute. Frankly I don't really care! LOL

 

Muster was in the casino. Short and painless sort of but too many NOT paying attention. Um, I will NOT help those who yap.

 

Have not seen nor heard about Klaus being here...though I have heard a lot about him...

 

If I hear about a reroute I shall let you know. Again....I don't care....I am on a ship.

I can't post pix from ship as ALL the transfer sites are blocked.....just spoke with internet mgr.

 

Others who are on other NCL ships may have different ways to post pix, hence you're able to see pix from some LIVEs but not other Lives....

Better to be diverted than have icky weather! I bet the people on the ships in Bermuda wish they had a diversion. They got the full force of that storm! anyway, you have the likelihood of having stellar weather as the storms usually clear everything else out! Enjoy!

The storm got to BDA already? I bet they will change course.....the ports in SJU and SXM are closed or closing from what the Captain suggested...

 

Weird, guess it's time for Fox News or something to see what's going on....

 

Two different storms. The 1st one hit Bermuda the 2nd one is impacting you.

Welcome back! As I mentioned earlier, we are being diverted to Falmouth, Jamaica and Cozumel, Mexico due to Tropical Storm (soon to be Hurricane) Gonzalo. So, Storm Gonzo will change this cruise into a Western Caribbean. Fine by me. The Shore Ex team is working to get alternate shore activities scheduled. Everyone who had something booked will get an automatic refund. No mention of anything else on the compensation front – not that it is expected, nor required, but in case anyone was wondering, I’ve heard nothing.

 

Let’s recap yesterday! First off, after a relaxing day at sea, dinner was at Le Bistro. The soups and desserts were excellent as was the French Press coffee. That being said, dinner, the roast pork, was served way too pink for my liking. Both the Aunt and I sent it back. It had a white Calvados cream sauce and the pink juices from the meat sort of broke the sauce resulting in, IMO, a not-too-appetizing appearance. The food was replaced but it was a little disappointing. I’ll post some pix possibly tomorrow in Falmouth.

 

I did enjoy another Americano and spent some time poking around on line this AM, when I learned that various uploading and FTP sites are blocked due to “bandwidth.” The internet manager is nice, but I was a little bummed to hear that I will be unable to post pix from the ship. Argh.

 

The casino was NOT 1125 friendly yesterday so I don’t think I will spend too much time there for the duration of the cruise. I wish that there were more channels, at least a weather channel to keep apprised of what’s going on with the storm. Neither Fox News nor MSNBC is really covering it very much, and there is not a weather channel available. Also the ship’s tracking channel hasn’t been correct (heck, it isn’t even on now) since early yesterday! I guess we are somewhere in the ocean between Miami and Jamaica!

 

“Burn the Floor” was phenomenal and I highly suggest that you see it if you’re sailing Getaway! (I have a rather short attention span, so IMO it was a little long- not to mention all the other guests getting up and moving about.. Grr). I will not be seeing “Legally Blonde” but I am sure it will be a great show.

 

I may try and watch a full length feature film if I can find something that appeals to me, but chances are I would probably see more of the inside of my eyelids! J

 

That’s all for now……..tomorrow I intend to buy some Blue Mountain Coffee and find an internet café in port! Perhaps I will stop by later today!

Thanks for the play by play! Definitely helpful as I will be on the Getaway on Saturday when you return. Would you be able to tell me if they do a Scotch tasting on any of the days? I'd imagine it would be in Freestyle Daily if they do.

We are here!!

 

Got here around 9 our time..(central)...actually it seems that we were awaiting the pier staff for a few moments as we were hanging outside the pier area for about 15 minutes...

 

 

(PS yes I do miss my kitty.....) Weather is perfect...found pier-area wifi for 10 bucks all day. I was picking up the signal from the ship so I may head back there to cool off...right now I am having a morning beverage...yellow bird...in a bar using my wifi card....probably should have headed to one of the other food places...maybe I will in a while.....

 

I will post a bunch of pix...sorry that they will probably make no sense and be out of order but I want to get you guys something to look at other than words!

 

Tomorrow is a day at sea...then Thursday we will be in Coz from 8-8, so that should give us some free entertainment...in the form of runners. I will investigate wifi there, but I am sure that it will be pretty easy....
