Ft. Lauderdale hotels with airport & cruise port trans.

If you look down the board you will see many recommendations for hotels. You will also see the common recommendation of www.sunny.org as a good comprehensive list of hotels in Ft Lauderdale, with their amenities.

You will also see the common comment not to let free shuttles cloud your view. Hotels in the 17th St area are very close by taxi (less than $15 before tip) and very close to the Port ($10-12, before tip, depending on the Terminal you are at). And taxis are very popular and available.

Most frequent cruisers will tell you Ft.L is one city not to book a hotel based on shuttles. Everything is within a quick inexpensive cab ride.

If you are looking for "free" shuttles from the airport to hotel, look at those nearer the airport. Altho Hyatt Place off 17th st. does too. Some hotels offer shuttle service to the port, not all free. A quick scan here will offer lots of ideas.

Do you have a budget and date to help us advise? The airport is only 15 min from the port. Staying near 17th St /beach is five min from port.

Thank you fir the quick replies.

If it helps, I guess the budget would be about $150 fir the hotel on October 25, just for the night. Also would like to be in walking distance of restaurants.

We are a family of 4. So I hope someone could give us a few suggestions.

Thank you,

That's a great date for rates. Look at Hyatt Place Convention center. On 10th street. You can book it for $129 on valuetrips.com. The rooms are large with two beds and sitting area. Includes breakfast, free shuttle from airport and only a 10-12$ , 8 min cab ride to the pier. There's lots of restaurants nearby as well as stores for last min purchases ie soda, snacks, wine etc. I think it would work for you as its popular with lots of cruisers.

Next week we are set to stay at the Sleep Inn in Dania Beach. Free shuttle from the aiport.

There is a Walgreens right in front of it, and a Mexican restaurant right beside it that got good reviews. It has a shuttle to cruise port for $5pp.

We booked this room a few months ago for what I would call a steal. If you want to book anything in the choice hotels chain, go directly to their website. They have lower rates than they list on regular booking websites.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Dania Beach, free shuttle from FLL and to Port Everglades the next morning, free breakfast included. Also shopping across the street and a couple close restaurants (some faster food, Chipotle, etc.) and a bunch of stuff that delivers. The front desk had some great suggestions too. Good luck
