Loucat Posted October 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2014 We will be in Roatan in February. We would love to hear ideas on the best places for seafood. Whole fish and lobster in a waterfront place? Best way to get there? Thanks for any ideas!

Rare crewsweeper Posted October 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2014 IMO, the absolutely best places are only open for dinner. That's the Italian place in the Mayoka Lodge up in Sandy Bay. Vintage Innin West Bay is a close second. For lunch, you'll need to be in West Bay or West End. But try Bite on the Beach in West Bay or Lobster Pot in West End. Linga Longa at the BeachHouse on west End is good too. If you're up to the north east around French Harbor/Parrot Tree, look for Temporary Cal's in First Bight. But there are a number of places all along WestBay at the various resorts with dining on or near the water.
Guest 2000 Posted October 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I understand the food at Beacher's is the best on the beach, West Bay. Many enjoy Lighthouse in West End. I find being on a island off the coast of a third world county things can be pretty much hit and miss. Bite on the Beach is a delightful over the water spot but man, they can not be consist about the food. It may be Vintage Inn spoken about above is Vintage Pearl. Travel Junkie Judy Posted October 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Well, we live on Roatan for 2 months every year. I think the best seafood is at Temporary Cal’s. It is west of Coxan Hole and Mahogany Bay. It is up on a hill and overlooks First Bight. Well worth the drive. Plus you get to see some of the island. That would definitely be my first choice for lunch. He’s open Tuesday through Friday. Cash only - no credit cards.. In West End, we like Escondido’s - above West End Diver’s right on the beach. On the main road, east of Coxen Hole and west of Mahogany bay - We love Wilson’s at Blue Lagoon. Small beach, small pool, volleyball court on the beach, nice dressing rooms and no cost to enter. They do expect you to eat or drink. We love their food. We think Light House is expensive. Go to Trip Adv to see reviews of the restaurants.
