Fat Paul Posted October 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2014 We are looking for a nice hotel within walking distance to Total Wine, around 17th street. Our budget is around $250.00 per night, one night stay. Also would like a suggestion for a nice seafood restaurant within walking distance budget $35 to $50 per person. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
CruiserBruce Posted October 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Just a little reading down the board would find MANY recommendations for Embassy Suites, which is directly in front of the Total Wines/Public shopping center. Several other good hotels (Hilton, Pier 66) further walk away.
eandj Posted October 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Renaissance and Hyatt Place are nearby too. Since you don't say when your stay is, your budget doesn't tell much. In fall that will get you top of the line. In winter, you'll find fewer to choose from. Lots of seafood restaurants in the area. Look at 17th Street Fisheries as one choice. GrandmaDi Posted October 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2014 We stayed at Hyatt Place and will be staying there again. Big rooms, good breakfast and quick walk to Total Wine. Go to Valuetrips.com to find good price.
cruiseapril Posted October 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We like the amenities at Embassy Suites: breakfast, manager's evening reception, pool area etc. Plus it is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants.

I second this. Embassy suites is great. They also organize a shuttle service or you can take a cheap cab to the port.

BlueHerons Posted October 19, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Stay at the Embassy. Kellys Landing is my new favorite seafood restaurant in that area.
doctoranna Posted December 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 11, 2014 We just stayed at Embassy Suites. It was $199 for 4 of us. The manager's reception was an open bar (not just tickets for 2 glasses of wine) with a snack buffet (not just a couple of bowls of pretzels), and if you are sailing on the Regal Princess and can manage your own luggage, you can actually walk to the port from ES. It's just about 3 blocks, and there is a Walgreens right on the corner by the port entrance if you forgot anything or want to pick up wine or soda. Even better for wine is Total Wine - one block from ES. And Publix supermarket right next door to Total Wine for soda. doctoranna Posted December 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Just a little bit less distance to carry the stuff if you are walking. Wish I had known the Walgreens was there before we walked a few blocks in the other direction to the CVS the night before we sailed.
