Explorer left Bermuda Early

I just checked the Port of Bermuda Live Cam, and noticed that the Explorer left early because of a tropical storm.

 

The sea is whipping up, but hopefully they will be able to get on to the next port without many problems. From Bermuda, the next port is Philipsburg, St Maarten----part of a 9 day cruise.

 

If anyone can post onboard, please let us know how you are doing.

 

We wish the crew and passengers a smooth safe trip.

Tropical Storm Fay is still raging on Bermuda now, but is expected to subside later. It is questionable if scheduled ship will dock today.

If you zoom out on the Port of Bermuda webcam, you can see the Norwegian Dawn circling north of Bermuda. There really is no place else to go out there. They are just waiting for the wind to die down enough so they can get through the channel and dock.

Looks like Dawn is now doing a cruise to nowhere.

Spotted a new ship waiting to dock at Bermuda.... The Grandeur of the Seas just arrived close to Norwegian Dawn north of Bermuda. They are located about 40 KM north of Bermuda....

Holy moly, those waves must be huge. Watching the webcam now.

 

The Silver Lining....when a storm goes through an area like that usually the next few days are picture perfect.

 

Let's hope they dock safely.

Rough night last night but tolerable. Will not make st Martin tomorrow as we had to divert west to avoid most of storm. Storm also in vicinity of st Martin tomorrow. Docking instead in San juan tomorrow at 2 and staying overnight.

Ship is doing fine beautiful sea day today.

Glad to hear everyone onboard Explorer is doing well and the sun is out! Captain James took us out of harms way in August when Tropical Storm Cristopal was heading towards Bermuda. Kudos to Captain James!!!
