I have reserved a cabana in labadee for our (DH & I) 9/10 Oasis sailing and have a few questions/concerns I am hoping you all can help with! We have an OW Nellies Beach cabana reserved. I have mobility/shoulder problems and DH cannot swim. So...

1. which cabana would be best for us?

2. Can I call C&A so they can note it on our res?

3. How deep is the water in front of the cabanas that have ladders. I can walk around if need be.

4. Where is the checkin for the cabanas?

5. Should we make sure we are off the ship in the 1st group to get the cabana we want?

6. We also dont want to take cabanas 1/10 as they look to be best for famlies with kids.

7. Will we require water shoes.... I have read mixed responses to this...Thanks for all your help!

I'd also love to know the answers to some of these questions.

1. They have handicapped cabanas on Nellies Beach that have ramps. The over the water cabanas have ladders, but not all have handicapped access and I am not sure of the depth-but the laddders are steep.

2. If you are in a grandsuite and above your concierge can help you.

3. The check in for the Nellies Beach Cabanas in in front of Barefoot Beach- a beach attendant will escort you to your cabana, and give you an orientation regarding beverage service and lunch. He/She will also get you beach chairs on the beach should you desire and "noodles and beachmats" for you and you guests.

4. As soon as you board, go to the Guest Relations guests. If you aren't a suite guest, they will tell you about cabana assignments. They assign the cabanas.

5. Your cabana will be assigned at least a day before the ship docks in Labadee-so make sure you request which cabana you want as soon as you arrive. You might be told by Guest Relations to report back another day- try to be the first one at the time they suggest.

6. No guarantee who will be your neighbors.

7. I always wear water shoes. Why not? No downside.

Bottom line- all of the Cabanas are wonderful. We have had cabanas on the beach-very high moutain view- and near the sand. The cabanas are all accessible to the water. However the one high on the mountain was isolated, but a walk on a rocky stairway to the sand and water. If you want privacy the best- but not the easiest to get to-especially if you aren't under 50 or have a walking disability. I actually found the cabana that we had that was the first one next to the beach to attract the most people and was noisy and busy. The area around our cabana was shaded so many people would bask in our shade-so it wasn't quite- but we had kids with us so we didn't care.

Hello! I have reserved a wheelchair accessible cabana on Nellie's Beach (so they tell me), but my picture does not match what they sent me and the location of the cabana. The location they sent me would put me in an OTW up on the rocks (left side of beach as you face toward land). I said I wanted #9 or #10 which would put me on the right side of the beach with a ramp down to the sand/edge of water. They say that is what I have booked, but the price matches a "Beach Cabana" which is behind the half wall. I feel I am getting nowhere when I try to talk/email the ShoreAccess Dept. Anyone have a suggestion?

You will probably have to wait until you are on board We had the first cabana however the beach cabanas have a passway behind them so they are accessible. google a map for labadee cabanas i recall seeing it previously on line.

How strict are they with the 6 people rule? We have 7 ( 3 adults and 4 kids between the ages of 9 & 15)

Really not a problem. When we had a cabana, the cabana butler puts chairs on the sand for you in additional to giving you swim noodles and mats. So people can of course rotate and the young kids prefer to stay by the water- good to choose a cabana on the beach-at Nellies, or if in a suite barefoot beach- great locations.
