NCL vs Carnival - ? for those who have cruised both lines

I have sailed NCL 4/5 times with another cruise in 5 days and Carnival once on the Breeze. I would still go with NCL even for the additional money. But that is just my opinion.

My CCL comments are: The entertainment (non-live music) on the Breeze was horrible. I did enjoy the bars with live entertainment. I also did not like the group dinner at a set time. And I hated the cheesy dancing most of all. I also felt crowded on the Breeze far more than any NCL ship but, in defense, I have not been on that large an NCL ship. The food was fine (comparable). I did like the Serenity deck on CCL but you have to spend a lot of time just to get a lounger, waiting for one to free up. Good bars and activities on both. I liked having a bar in the library on the Breeze.

For NCL, I like free style and going to the main dining hall when I choose. The entertainment/shows are excellent. The crew seems more available on NCL,especially the cruise director staff.

This said, I do not think either would be a bad cruise. Enjoy.

In your case, I say go for it. Epic was one of my favorite NCL cruises, mostly because of great entertainment. The rooms are a little odd, but the rest of the ship is really nice.

I agree 100%. We love, love, love the Epic. Have sailed her three times.

The entertainment, and the casino are top notch. You will have a blast.
