Rare georgiacat Posted October 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Has anyone sailed in Brilliamce of the Seas cabin 7086? What is the obstructed view? How was any noise problem from the casino below? thanks
BillB48 Posted October 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I could not find a notation of obstructed view for that cabin. The picture is of the Radiance, but they are the same ship, so I don't think there is any real difference. If I counted correctly your cabin is notated, the "obstruction" is the cleaning apparatus a little farther forward and I really don't know where they actually store it. Seems to me if I remember correctly it is stored farther forward than where it is in the picture. The casino is not a huge noise source so I would not expect any problems from there. The only thing I would add is due to the set back of the cabin, as it it overlooks a covering over the lifeboats which results in you unable to look straight down to the water. This is minimized by going to a higher deck. You can also avoid this covering by selecting a cabin in the forward part of the ship, the hump or in the after sections. robtulipe Posted October 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Cabin 7086 balcony view is obstructed by the lifeboat cover as shown in the shot below and that's why it is a Category E3 . Edited October 28, 2014 by robtulipe
cb at sea Posted October 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2014 It's not really an "obstruction"...it's below you...you have a full, outward view.
robtulipe Posted October 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Here is a better shot of the balconies just forward of the port hump where cabin 7086 is located. Edited October 28, 2014 by robtulipe
robtulipe Posted October 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) It's not really an "obstruction"...it's below you...you have a full, outward view. Well, the view of these cabins are still completely obstructed downwards and that's why RCI classify these cabins as E3. Here's the much better view from the forward deck 7 E1 we had on Serenade last Spring. We're on Serenade next week and I didn't go with an X gty for this cruise because of the possibility of getting an E3 cabin with that terrible view. That's IMHO, others appear do not mind having this view. Edited October 28, 2014 by robtulipe

If I am paying full price for a balcony I don't want to have the life boat covers, or balcony roofs on the Vision class, right at the bottom of my balcony. If I got a heck of a deal, then maybe....but it wouldn't be worth much more than the price of an ocean view cabin to me. Justmekaren918 Posted October 28, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2014 If you can get up into the 7040 area you won't have that problem!
Rare georgiacat Posted October 28, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Thank you all for your helpful information. It doesn't appear to be all that bad. I think we can live with that. Our (new) travel agent chose this cabin for us, so I don't think I will change. There are other things that we may have to get straight with this new guy. Wish I could find a good travel agent.
