Post Cruise w/Kids in Cape Canaveral

We will arrive in port early Sunday morning (Port Canaveral) and our flight leaves Orlando at 4:45 pm that day. I need some ideas of activities to do with my kids for the day. There are 5 kids, ages 13-4, and 2 adults. We do not want to go to Downtown Disney and we want something free or inexpensive because we are spoiling our kids with the cruise and excursions.

Thanks!

How about Kennedy Space Center? I'm not sure if they still do this but it used to be that every congressman/woman had a certain number of tickets they could give to their citizens. You just had to call or write their office requesting them.

We are doing the space center the day before the cruise, so we need something for the few hours after we are back. What is there to do at Cocoa Beach Pier?

Eat and watch people fish. ;)

For free or inexpensive:

I think there is still a pretty neat store up by Ron Jons, but on the causeway, called the Dinosaur Store that my 14 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter loved. Lots of interesting pre-historic info and artifacts!

The Cocoa Beach Surf Shop is also up there and they have a pretty cool aquarium in the middle of the store. The Ron Jons is cool to just browse in. The Surf Shop has a Starbucks, so you get then get a nice coffee drink for the ride to Orlando.
