By asking on the Mexican Rivera board you get input from people who have been there on any cruise line, plus there are some people on that board who spend their winters in Mexico who have lots of insight.

Got back on Sunday night from a week in Mazatlan. No problem. We go every year. Never felt unsafe. Take a pulmonia ride. Enjoy the town. Great place.

we've not been since before it had been taken off the schedule and since I saw it still has a warning on the US State dpt site was wondering, feel better reading this so thank you! we look forward to it, we just usually stay in the main part of the town!

Was there in March on a HAL ship. It was the first time they stopped there. Town Volunteers were there to greet our ship(mostly Americans living down there). Maps were given out with highlighted directions how to walk into town. Think you had to follow the yellow line. And there it was, painted on the sidewalks all the way to town. Downtown area was the same as it has been , locals doing their shopping. Gold zone .We did take a private tour, that toured Mazatlan, then took us to Stone Island for a lovely afternoon on the beach, then back to ship.

Never felt uncomfortable. Actually once there felt like we had really missed this port. It was nice.

We have friends staying in Mazatlan right now, enjoying every moment. They are there for over a month, and are not the kind of people to just stay at the resort.
